Brooklyn Don't go searching for a mermaid if you can't swim...

So one of the uber great things about knowing that you boss needs you so much is that occasionally you can throw your ridiculously responsible self into a fit of guaged-recklessness and...take tomorrow off to go snowboarding. Which means that I will be a complete bruise and ache from head to toes on Friday. "Guaged-recklessness" because I've waited to do this until all of my very important projects here at work are tied up. Irresponsible because it is a Thursday. But come on...if I wait any longer the snow will be gone. Or if I go on the weekends the slopes will be slammed with people. I've been waiting to try this for YEARS.

PLus, I just got my new snow bibs in the mail. They looked pink online. But they were on sale. So I sucked it up and bought them. Well, they are NEON pink. Not hot pink. Not bright pink. NEON PINK. I'm going to look like a sunburned lobster in drag. But I'll be having fun. So there.

I guess I need some bright pink lipstick to match. Why not play it up? :::wink:::

Just got "Playing the Field" by Mamie Van Doren in the mail. I love half.com.

I dunno...bruises are hot, aren't they? *wink*

I'll keep that in mind. My pink snowbunny gear is like a giant mattress. Should help...

Ha, well I do come from the land of eternal sunshine (not really lately, though, all the hills are coming down in the rain), a very warm jacket may still be in order.
I step off the plane some gawdawful time early in the morning thueday and fly back lateish on monday. I'm coming to check out where I want to live in the city. Murray Hill seems most appealing right now, but I'm staying in Brooklyn so I can see what I think of it (and to visit a friend).

In the past I was always a mid distance runner too, so we'll see if I die in this marathon. Never have done competitive swimming, it's the one I'll have the most trouble with if I decide I want to do triathalons.
