i've always thought it was a bit weird there was an SG booth at comic con. but if there wasn't i wouldn't have gotten to be friends with bee, who's now a good bud and neighbor so i guess it's not super weird...you guys should do dragon con though!

true, and comic con hasn't been just about comics for a long time. i'm not knocking it by any means i always swing by and say hi if i'm there working a booth for an animation studio i'm at or something. but my first reaction was definitely "oh dang, they're totally preying on [us] nerds!" but for that matter so is every booth babe dressed as an obscure indie comic character, and it's probably less so than that even. i'm a bit weird with comic cons anyway, i've moved away from going to san diego and gravitate more toward MoCCA and SPX and the like in recent years. san diego is almost more of an alternative entertainment con these days. i think suicide girls should be allowed to be there. it sounds like they'd just have to card everyone who wants to make a purchase, which is kind of silly because sg isn't that explicit compared to a lot of the comics that are at the con.

Well, I know how it is having to card people in a couple of the jobs I've had. If the guy claiming to have not been carded was 30 or 40+, there is no reason to ask for id. So it makes the claim pretty hilarious.

The claim that SG didn't have a booth is what really gets me pissed. They are so full of shit. I really hope the ban gets lifted. It was one of the reasons I was looking forward to going!

Judging from that article, the whole situation sounds like one giant mess on Comic-Con's end. Banning SG for some vague allegations and then changing your story to say SG just didn't get on the list in time is pretty suspicious (plus you'd imagine a company that has reserved a booth at comic-con four times before would have a clear idea of how far in advance to get their info in).It sounds like either a giant miscommunication or simply some one doesn't like SG. Either way, I really hope everything gets resolved. Even though I've never been to a comic-con event, I'll def write in support of the cause.

aceohearts is spot on in his assessment. Comic-Con fucked up somewhere and is trying to do some major CYA in order to save face.Hopefully everything will work because C-C could wind up with some bad juju if it doesn't.

that really sucks. they are making a big mistake. i think a lot of the members are fellow geeks, so wtf! and it double sucks that they aren't returning your calls!! what gives?!?!
