A general anesthetic would be nice.

MARCH 19, 2007 @ 09:45 PM | 38 COMMENTS

Thank all of you guys so much for your words of support and love. Really, I can't even tell you what it means to have such sweetness poured out to me all at once from you guys when I really needed it. I'm hanging in there. Kinda lonely but working it out. Everything is going to be ok, just re-figuring my life out. It gets pretty tangly after 5 years.

Actually I read today that everyone experiences dramatic physical and psychological transformation every 7 years. "Nature asks us to cast off the old and leap into the new. This death and renewal happens from the smallest cell to the depths of our soul. These times of transformation are ideal for spiritual rebirth. If you cling to the old at such a time it will lead to depression and sickness. If you can say yes to the new it will bring fresh surges of health, creativity, and spiritual awakening." I just had my birthday and just began the 6th stage of transformation. Hmmm. It's hard.

But anyway, most importantly I wanted to thank all of you who wrote to me and sent me your love. It means a lot, even over the internet, even if we have never met face to face. The web is a funny thing, but I feel ya and I love ya and I appreciate it all.

love,
Blyss

Disappointing end to 5 years of the love of my life...I thought. 2 days after moving out, shows up with a U-haul and news of a new girl he's been dating.

Heartbreaking end with no end. Wish I had drugs wish I had hugs.

I think I am going to go Tango dancing tonight or maybe salsa dancing or maybe we'll all go see 300. That movie looks insanely beautiful, like you would want to take each movie frame and hang it on your wall. Oooooo! Aaaaah!

The last 2 nights have been really fun. Actually this whole week has been fun....dancing at The Last Supper Club and the Noc Noc, Burlesque shows, running into people out and about. Hanging out with my good friend Richard, meeting a new awesome friend Raven with a mohawk and a lust for life. Waking up to a house full of friends crashed out on couches and floors, midnight taco bell, dreamtime sexy squirming, playing lunchtime frisbee and hackysack with my little girl and her friends a couple times, saving a goldfish from toilet doom...

Here are some photos from our houseboat shoot last week. This is usually how it is...open antique suitcase spilling out panties and heels, fishnets and lipsticks, me shaking my booty, listening to music, having a drink, curling my hair and having a good time with Miguel while he takes pictures of my crotch when he thinks I'm not looking. Sometimes it's even better than that...say, when I'm on a gorgeous houseboat with a bunch of friends on a sunny day with nothing to do the next day but sleep in. If I was a lion I would have the best roar!

I have a go-go dancing audition this Saturday for a new club on Capital Hill. Dancing for me is like going to the Chiropractor for other people. I need it!

Off to shoot a new set and the sun is shining like it is spring for sure. Perfect smile Hung out with a cutie girl named Jo we met in San Francisco, last night. She was staying at the Green Tortoise Seattle but we've kidnapped her so she's quit her 1 week engagement at the Tortoise to adventure around with us. She's from Enland....London....? Geesh, I should get that worked out, but I know she's been traveling for a good while. Girls like that, people like that, independent travelers, the solo journey makers......so, so, so GOOD! smile

Have you ever traveled solo?

I have. love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love Someday when I look back on my life, this will be one of the great things that I most cherish.

What a beautiful morning. Andnowmiguel, his brother Teggart and I are making eggs benedict and drinking Mimosa's.. I love lazy morning's.

And....I LOVE BEIRUT!!!! You have to go listen to his music, it is so awesome. Definately my favorite new music....one young guy, plays trumpet, ukelele, piano, organs, vocals, percussion, accordion and mandolin. Gorgeous gypsy sounding music, all soulful and beautiful like a heartfelt celebration of life. love Listen to Beirut Postcards from Italy is one of my favorite songs for sure.

Man, last night I stayed up til about 2am and then I woke up at 9am which is much less sleep than I normally need. Maybe I am finally going back to my old sleep habits, that would be really nice. It seems like I have required so much sleep in the recent past. I used to consider myself a night person but lately it seems like I'm neither night or morning but more like mid-day. That's no good. Though I love to sleep, I hate feeling like I'm wasting my time away in dreamland all the time.

What do you think about dreams? I believe they are just as much of an experience as waking life and should be credited for giving real experiences. Though you are sleeping you are having an experience that has provoked thought and real emotion. They are just alternate realities.

So, I am going to try to go vegetarian again. I love meat but I hate the idea of eating carcass. When you say it like it is, it is so bad....I love animals also. I know everyone does and there are so many arguments for and against. My bottom line is that eating meat is eating something that is dead and that is pretty gross if you think about it, which you should. Went to Trader Joe's this morning and got a lot of meatless meat and some girl scout cookies. We are on Box 9 or so. biggrin

If you haven't seen The Protector yet, you must! Watch the extended version because it has a lot of beautiful Thai footage depicting the love and companionship between Thai elephants and their human families. Then, later in the movie Tony Jaa is incredible. He can run 3 steps up a wall and jump from the ground, kick out a street light and land on his feet. Super good movie. I couldn't actually watch the end because of the elephant factor but it is still worth watching.

Also, If you haven't yet read my last journal entry, it has a huge photo update from my trip to San Francisco so check it out if you haven't seen it yet.

xo and good vibrations,
Blyss

Oh yeah, you should check out the Sasquatch Festival line-up this year!! Beastie Boys! Arcade Fire! Neko Case! Mano Chao! Citizen Cope! Spearhead! Ozomatli! We're there. smile

ps It's almost my birthday!! smile

Look at how beautiful this fan art by Rainfromunder is... I love it!

Huge Photo update from our trip to San Francisco last week. kiss **Note, many of the pictures are cut off but if you right click on the photo and select 'view image' you can see the whole thing smile**

From our cabaret shoot in the Mission district on Saturday afternoon just a few hours after we had rolled into town.

Author, Michelle Tea and her honey, Mr. Locco smile

Jeremiah and I out and about town. Crazy tourists.

This is me the whole time..."JERE miah! Be careful!!!" Such a sister.

Group cabaret shoot...

Lauren McCubbin, photographer for the month and illustrator for the book.

Kinda trippy, cool picture.

Monjibbity Jive,

Sparks spokemodel of the year,

And we finally met Ms. Obsidity who was a lot of fun!

My crotch, make-up box and a Sparks. What else do you need?

Me and my ever-present video camera smile

How do you like my costume? I quarted the bottom portion of an old 80's prom dress and made arm and leg bands. Cool eh smile

SG Maddigan

More from Obsidity and I....she used to be a member on SG for a long time and is also a burner.

Makin-out on the streets. Filthy, filthy bad seeds!

Juice.

The Dark Room Theater, that's where we had the shoot on Saturday.

Old vintage signs are SEXY. I love em. This one was next door to our hostel in North Beach.

These guys made a huge ruckus and were crawlin' all over each other.

I love how in San Francisco so much of the old architecture is preserved. I wish it were that way in Seattle but instead they just keep building condos.

My little sister Jamie. Hadn't seen her for 5 years. Way too long.

My brother and I are really into Tony Jaa...have you SEEN The Protector??! So great! (not that we are doing anything Tony Jaa related in this picture except talking about him and getting excited like dorks)

Jamie and her honey Gabe.

I have fantastic photo journalism moves.

This is food??

Mini mountain in the middle of the city.

We were sure they were moments from collision until one of the worms reversed it. Cool.

Cooool.

Going back home.

Phew. So there you go. I accidentally erased this thing over half way through earlier today robot That was horrible! It takes a long time to photo update, even with the site improvements. Thats alright though, they are always a lot more fun for me to read back on in my old journals so they must be more interesting for you too smile

Also, here are a few from a recent art show, Artifakt I was involved in. Local DJ and bodypainter Mychosis did my body art in these. Speaking of art, I also bought 2 pieces of art that night. Rad smile

I am up at 7:30am to eat free bagels. I am obviously insane or poor! I am in San Francisco, staying at the Green Tortoise Hostel (which by the way is a very cool place to stay, right in the heart of things in SF) with Jeremiah and Miguel. We rented a car (thanks Rainbow!) and Jeremiah drove straight through, the entire way on the way here. There was snow at the California border...weird. More snow than I have seen in Wa. this year so far!

Saw my sister Jamie for the first time in 5 years yesterday, which was so awesome. She turned out really cool. We all walked down to the wharf yesterday only to realize what a tourist trap it is...we have had a lot of fun walking around the city. I like how all the buildings are so old and especially like all the old signage. I wish Seattle would respect the old architecture like that. Instead they just keep tearing down beautiful old buildings and houses to build condos. Yuck.

Had a photoshoot on Saturday that was a blast....Miguel was in it also. It was for a full length graphic novel for the same author and illustrator as Rent Girl. It is going to be REALLY awesome I believe. We have special powers......hehe! We have another shoot today at 1pm, all three of us....which means I get to go back to sleep in a few... wink

Got to meet Juliana and maddigan at the shoot on Saturday...super cute and very cool, the both of them!

Been taking a bunch of pictures but will have to post them when I get home.

Aw, I'm sad to say that my favorite set I've shot to date has been rejected. I think it turned out beautiful and reminds me of what a beautiful day that was. smile Hope you like it and would love to hear what you think.
