Slumber party weekend with good friends, movies and cocktails! I recently moved to Vashon Island, land of hippies and rich elitists. Loving the 100 year old giant, gorgeous walnut tree that canopies over my new place, the baby frog that hopped in my door when I was gathering firewood, the ONE stop light in town, free roaming dogs, old, caving in barns and neighbors who welcome us with fresh eggs from their chickens. Pretty cool. Thinking ahead to summer when I will hang swings and hammocks, plant gardens, find some chickens of my own, acquire a HOT TUB, build a slide, find a swimming pool and a fire barrel....and then have a big party with excellent DJ who plays music that demands we submit to it's soul. Yeah

I miss you SG!
.

I remember when I was SG # 200-something!! And now there is thousands...so crazy...so cool. Want you to know that though I am never far from here...
Where have I been? I have a little baby, 16 months old...so super sweet and the center of my universe! Getting ready for Burning Man again....yay!!!!!!!!!!!! Missed last year and it was hard so am very excited to be planning my yearly road trip once again. Just came back from Orcas Island where I bought a used geodesic dome (16ft across by 8 ft tall) which I will re-assemble and live in on the playa. A puzzle to build and live in, yes!
It has been so long since I have shot a set...having a baby and such but have been thinking it would be fun...we'll see.
Miss this place!!!

I still can't believe Michael Jackson is dead. I grew up with him, he was HUGE. I remember when MTV first came on the air and he was bigger than life! My brothers had the Michael Jackson jacket with all the zippers and we would practice dance moves out in the front yard. We had his posters in our room...he was amazing! I remember when he came out on stage during one of the award ceremonies and danced and did the moon walk and it blew me away. He was phenomenal! When he was on top, at his peak, pop culture was so affected by him. He changed everything and every single person I knew loved him. It was cool to see, to say the least. I feel lucky to have been there. And now after his memory is so tainted by his odd lifestyle and tabloid craziness some might forget how wonderful he was, but I don't.

Thank you everyone for commenting on my set in member review!!! If you haven't had a chance to see it, check it out and leave me a comment! I would love to hear what you think of it so please leave a comment on the set rather than in my journal. If enough people love it, SG will buy it to have and hold forever and ever
Velvet Daydream
And now I'll go back to reading A Scanner Darkly by Philip K. Dick and eating confetti cupcakes with white frosting and sprinkles!! Yum.

There is a man I see out on the playa year after year taking photos by the name of Kyer...he is soon to put out a book of festival images and I believe this photo will be included in the bunch
I have seen some of the other photos and am truly impressed. He is a great photographer.

Tonight I am cooking sweet potatoes and listening to KEXP's Best Ambiance music program. I like it. Easy going reggae and world music. When the sweet potatoes are done they will be really good for me and the baby. I like the idea of making Echo her food instead of buying it....There is a huge pile of clothes in my room....I should fold them and put them away but I won't tonight. Tonight I am going to be domestic...in the kitchen. And the yard. I already watered my garden and toured all the little vegetable patches to see how much they have grown. It is really nice to watch plants grow....do you know? I also let the chickens out. They are happy chickens and super tame. They will eat out of my hand and hang out with me when I am out in the yard.
So my friend's business endeavor made it on to Conan O'Brien, check it out
Conan video clip
I would try it but haven't had the chance yet. I think it sounds yummy!
I haven't heard anything from SG headquarters yet about the most recent set yet but I'm sure they have it by now. Soon it will be in member review

Imagine hundreds of wild horses stampeding across a great plain....only in terms of dophins!!
Wow!!! That is incredibly awesome in the true sense of the word.
I sent my set into SG and they probably have it by now. It has been so long, I'm really excited to post new pictures. I have never participated in the member review way of doing things so I'm curious to see how it goes.
I have been reading a lot and have had a whole string of great books. I read all of Cormac McCarthy's books (nearly) and found him to be my favorite author ever. He has a way with words that flows so effortlessly. I wish I could express myself like that. I have a hard time expressing my thoughts in a way that envelopes the full scope of what I am actually trying to say. If you know what I mean. Tom Robbins is great too. I just read "Fierce Invalids Home From Hot Climates" and loved it. He's got all kinds of crazy ideas and he's kinda zany. I have a friend who regularly goes to his house for psychic readings with his wife! Figures. Anyway, right now I am reading "The Fountainhead" by Ayn Rand and like it a lot, which surprised me. A long time ago I attempted to read Atlas Shrugged and was so bored that I didn't make it far. I'm going to give it another try soon, maybe I was wrong.
I am going back to work this week and it should be interesting considering recent events.

Juice demands a new post! Juicejuicejuice!! Hey everybody, go watch this, it makes me hugely happy
I will have you know that I am at this very moment, simultaneously editing a new SG set for you. One that I shot a little bit ago but that was lost in the sauce and has now been found. I am excited, it's been a while!
So my daughter Echo is 4 months old today. I have been taking all this time off taking her of her and I love it. Her daddy is away for a while (hence the orange jumpsuit)
He will be back around in 7 months though. I miss him but it's nice also to have exclusive one on one time with my baby. She is so sweet too, ooooh I love her!! Now that summer is here we spend all our time outdoors in the garden, hanging out with chickens and cats and dogs and also at the lake. Here are a few pictures...

Echo AnnMarie Kamikaze was born February 1, 2009 at 10:30pm by c-section after 19 1/2 hours of labor. It was intense. The pain was unbelievable, my labor was unprogressive and I ended up needing to have a spinal and a c-section. It was so climactic to finally see her little face! She totally looks like Timm
I am updating from the UW hospital. My sister Brook is staying with me (cutting the cord down below...) until I get out of the hospital in a few days.
