Okay, I'm not going to talk about food this time. tongue
I've been kind of bored when I'm not working so I decided to buy Animal Crossing for my Nintendo DS Lite. My husband bought it for me for Christmas years ago and I never really played on it much because my games that I had were kind of boring. This game is the perfect time waster for me and I'm thrilled about it. Also, we made a visit to our local comic and gaming store this weekend and I came across a Munchkin RPG. If you've ever played the Munchkin card game then this is what I'm talking about, they made a D20 role playing version of the Munchkin game, so it's basically a very silly and sarcastic version of DnD. I saw it and new instantly that this would be a game that I would like to be a Game Master for. I used to play Kingdom of Loathing all the time, have done the DnD thing, so what could be better than putting what I know together? I ordered all the books, so now I just have to wait. I'm going to lead a group of friends who have never played a role playing game before but showed interest. This is probably the best way for them to start and learn how RPG's work and still have fun. My husband will be playing but there will be possibly 2-3 other girls, they all have a nerdy role playing interest about them. One used to play World of Warcraft, another is a HUGE Lord of the Rings fan and enjoys the fantasy genre, and the other is just very creative and liked the sound of the game and I think they'll all do well with this. So, all I've been thinking about for the past day is how I'm going to be setting up the adventures for them to go on. Since it's ALL new to them (except my husband, he's been playing DnD since he was 9 and he's 28 now) I've been thinking of having them do a few basic things, possibly having someone send them off to a field or forest and kill some animals and bring back their pelts or livers or something, and then send them off to another place and kill things until they find a trinket or special animal that will do something else. I'm definitely using Kingdom of Loathing for some inspiration, and I'm sure the books will also help me out with planning everything. So, that's what's going on in my brain right now, silly fun little games. I'm excited though that I'd actually be able to try out being a GM, I definitely don't know enough about DnD or Cthulhu to lead anything like that, and I think I'm silly and fun enough that this would be the best thing for me to create. I'm really excited. smile

you could also take some ideas from WoW for some of their quest ideas. there are a few good quest chains for the lower levels...bandit camps...marauding monsters...that kind of stuff. I won't lie, I'm a little jealous. But you're a super creative person, and this is the PERFECT atmosphere for you. I'm sure it will be super fun for everyone.
