Hey everyone! I just had an amazing time in San Fransisco, with Taye and her husband! They welcomed me in and it was an absolute blast! She threw an amazing SG/fashion designer fashion show and party which ended up being the best SG party I've ever been to so PLEASE go check out Taye and how incredible she is at photography. Even though I did'nt get to shoot a set with her, because of a time crunch, I really suggest going and visiting her husband's shop (he's an amazing tattoo artist!) and for all the SG's go and shoot a set with her. She just shot a set for Zoli and I've seen a lot from her and can say she is a favorite photographer of mine.
On top of all that Emma is doing amazing! She is such a little angel, and so happy. I am truly blessed to be her mother. It was nice to get away for a few days and be an SG for a few days but getting back to my husband and Emma was even better. I felt like I was away forever! It's crazy how long it can feel, just a few days feels like an eternity.
I got some amazing things while I was there as well. I bought this suoer cool elephant ring and a few bracelets from a thai store. Since I last spoke I got a little friend named Dexter, he is a purebred Chi with whom I love so much and while I was gone he got bitten by a spider (they are'nt exactly sure) or stung by a bee and was almost killed. My husband found him half dead under our bed just in time and was able to get him to the pet emergency room and saved his life. I thank him so much for that, not only does he bust his ass at his amazing job that he got a few months ago but during the day he fights pet death by rushing off in his red cape and saving pet lives! I love him!
Hey just so everyone knows, my husband and I are starting a company (I already have a make-up company) including photography, the company will be him shooting and me as the cosmetic director. VIsoDAngelo Cosmetic artistry and photography and we do a lot of weddings and shoots so any SG hopefulls in San Diego or brides looking for an amazing wedding day experience please let me know. Email for and I'll call you so we can set up a meeting, ASAP!
I love my husband and daughter and thank you all for supporting me and my pictures. I'll be doing some pictures soon so keep checking in! Love you all!

I'm not sure how many of you know what Twitter is or are even on it. It's a site for phone and web text messaging for FREE! You sign up at Twitter.com and add friends like Myspace but when you text the number 40404 it sends you're message to ALL you're friends. You can only send 120 Characters so usually I keep it short....like; At home with Emma. Her heart beats perfectly now and it makes mine glow. Snuggling with her by the fireplace is lovely.
I only have 10 people who check me out but because in my real life I honestly do not have many friends I would like to reach out with others around the country and even the globe because it's hard feeling alone a lot. I have my amazing husband and my incredible daughter but when you have a child, it's hard to go out and meet people even if it's just a friday night with my husband. Babysitters no longer exist, it seems they were everywhere when we were young but now there are nannies and most nannies dont want a four hour a week job....haha because I DO love spending as much time possible with her and I don't want to have someone else raising my angel.
Point being....JOIN TWITTER...FOLLOW MY TEXTS...WHICH I LEAVE NUMEROUS TIMES A DAY....AND AS SOMEONE WISE ONCE SAID....ENJOY YOU'RE NEW ADDICTION!

Dearest Readers,

I am very excited to inform you all that I will be writing a spotlight piece every month on a different Tattoo Artist/Piercer residing in Southern California. This will not only give credit where credit is due to all the amazing artists out there but also give my readers information on where to get their next tattoo or piercing!

As this is my inaugural article I want to feature the best shop and piercer not only in the Southern California but the finest I have seen to date. As most of you know I have been tattooed and pierced as far as London and Quebec, Fiji and Australia. Yet this shop is full of life, kindness, and love for their work. I want you to know about it as well, as their piercer, Mike W. Who single handed made such an impression on me that I have been inspired to be loyal to this shop alone. Not only is it a clean, kind, and professional shop, but the people there are the best of the best!

Mike's work is impeccable. He wants to make sure that your piercing will sit right, be comfortable, be as painless as possible and most importantly heal well.....though that usually depends on the piercing....If you do not take care of you're piercing you cannot expect impeccable results!

Mike W. of Edgewater tattoo in the Hillcrest area of San Diego is an artist. I call him an artist because the piercings he creates make a statement. That statement being, I am confident, I am kind, and I know what I am doing.
When we discussed my pet peeves about the arrogance of a lot of artists, Mike stated "I take my job seriously, yet I am understanding to the needs of my clients as should anyone working in this field, you need to consider their feelings and happiness with the end result in mind. I refuse to hire someone unless I know they will be as down to earth as the rest of my employees. I can tell within 5 minutes of meeting an interviewee if the person applying for the job is right for our shop. Arrogance is not accepted here at Edgewater. We are all very laid back people. We are like a family. One bad apple can spoil the whole bunch, and I am not willing to take that kind of risk as an employer. I want exceptional, down to earth artists working for me because in order to make you're customers happy, you must first have happy employees!" I agree 100% with him, in every way, that is why I hail him as not only an amazing piercer and artist but a great person as well.

Mike W. worked in the medical profession before deciding to open his own shop. I, like many of you out there understand how painful and testy a healing ear (or any other) piercing can be. Though it has only been three days I am surprised at how comfortable I am with my new Trecus piercing, even while sleeping. I have had not a single glitch when it comes to this new piercing and that is why I am so excited to tell you more about this shop.

There are six total employees working at Edgewater currently. four being tattoo artists and two being piercing specialists. When I asked Diane,25, a fellow tattoo artist at edgewater what it was like working with Mike she said "Mike is an excellent boss, he is very straight forward and honest. Honesty is so important in this field. Not only with your fellow employees but also with your clients. It is important to build a relationship with a client because you want that to grow over the months or even years that they are coming to you to get tattooed. I love my job, and I really enjoy Mike as my boss, because he is fun and professional at the same time. There is time for business and there is time for fun....mike incorporates both of them which is hard to find in an employer" Diane is a tattoo artist with Edgewater and has been so for a year and a half after attending UCSD.

I must say this so you as my readers know. I do not get any special treatment at these shops for writing these pieces. Most of them don't even know about my articles until after I have conducted business with them, and have gotten full permission to write about them. I do also warn them that I will be honest. If I do not think a shop is up to par I will not and would not subject my readers to a poorly run shop. I am just like you, and I will say one thing, I do NOT base my opinion on the prices they charge. It has been said a million times in the past and will be said a million times in the future, "A good tattoo is never cheap, and a cheap tattoo is never good!" You get what you pay for so please be smart. Think about what you want because it will be with you for the rest of your life. Friends will come and go but tattoos are forever. What is important is that you love your tattoo, not what anyone else thinks. A tattoo/piercing is like a romantic relationship. The fear of commitment, the rush of joy and happiness, also known as your endorphins, The pain and then the closure. Beautiful, beautiful closure, in the form or a permanent wearable piece of art, whether its on your skin or in the form of a piercing.

I am very picky when it comes to my tattoo shop choices. I look at three things. Cleanliness, Kindness, and professionalism (how well they performed the task at hand). This is the first time in all my years being tattooed that iIhave given a perfect ten on all three subjects. So please go in to the shop, take a look around, enjoy the people, make sure to take a look at their personal portfolios and don't forget to tell them Bella sent you!

"Spyder" Mike Walliser
Photogragper / Piercer / Boss

Mike preformed his first body piercing in 1979 but did not develop a serious interest in piercing until 1992 when his nephew Sean Dowdell opened Club Tattoo in Arizona. To our knowledge Mike Walliser is the only body piercer in San Diego County to actually have his piercing technique and facility inspected by the San Diego County, Department of Environmental Health. This inspection took place as part of an impromptu field training exercise and as an aid in setting up health regulations for San Diego County's body piercing industry.

Mike has been in business, music and the arts nearly fifty years. His father owned Edgewater Press (a graphic arts company) in Chicago IL. And some of his earliest memories are of his father's dinner table lectures on graphic arts and business. At the age of 8 he was enrolled in private art school. By his freshman year in high school he was earning money as a drummer in rock bands. He needed his parents to drive him to the gigs. During the following year he and his sister opened his first business a snack bar at a local public swimming pool. Before graduating high school his family moved to Arizona where he continued his music career. After high school graduation he open a custom car and chopper shop only to close it when he got the opportunity to go on the road as a musician, which he did for the next 10 years. Between gigs he would work in various capacities in art galleries including management. His full time music career ended in Las Vegas where he turned his talents to photography. Mike quickly evolved from student, to camera store employee, to manager, to commercial photographer, studio and lab owner. Mr. Walliser served as a member of the board of directors of the "Professional Photographers of Nevada" for a number of years. As a photographer his subjects have included Sammy Davis Jr., Carry Grant, Tod Howarth of Ted Nugent, 707, Freley's Comet, and Cheap Trick, and lately, various members of Linkin Park. During his Las Vegas period he was a frequent speaker at both the University of Nevada and Clark County Community Collage photography departments as well as being photographic advisor / consultant to The United States Air Force Thunderbirds aerobatic demonstration team. He is proficient in commercial, architectural, portraiture, fine art and medical photography, as well as being both a color and black and white lab technician.

As owner of Edgewater Tattoo Studios, "Big Mike" is constantly striving to bring you the best of the body art world.
