OK. So, here is the update on my "fabulous west coast life," as Bossanova put it. I have a job that makes "enough" money, and I'm taking some classes that are keeping me interested and working toward a profession that I think I will enjoy. I moved into the most awesome house I've ever lived in (yeah, that's right. My fantasy of having a functional washer and dryer in my house has been realized. WOOHOOOOOOO!). I have two fabulous roommates, and I am happier than I have been in a few years. Once a day or so I find myself walking down the street when all of a sudden, I realize that my life fucking rocks, and I'm ecstatically happy, and then I continue on my way with a ridiculous grin on my face.

Oh, and about two months ago, my car got totalled. Despite the fact that I loved her dearly (RIP Esmerelda) it was a blessing in disguise, as I got out of a monthly payment that was too high and got a enough money from my insurance company to pay her off as well as retain a good chunk for a down payment on a new car. Additionally, the fantastic aforementioned house happens to be within walking/biking distance from both my school and my job, so I remain sans car, and I am getting in shape too! Fucking awesome, I must say. I never thought I would find myself living in L.A. without a car. I'm sure I'll get one soon (or a motorcycle, perhaps), but until then, I'm enjoying getting exercise, saving money and staying close to home.

In conclusion, my life rocks. Lots of love to all my people out there in the ether.

15 1/2 hours, one major head cold, a slight cough and two pulled shoulder muscles later, I arrived back on the "best" coast. This is what fucked up flights, EXTREMELY heavy carry-ons and functioning on a week of very little sleep will get you. Yay me. But I must have done something right in my life because I have been blessed with the most awesome best friend ever and upon my arrival (despite my exhausted ass having to drive the 20 minutes home because she was a little drunk), I was fed vitamins, handed face cream and tucked into a fully made-up bed, which is to be my home for the next few weeks. What more could I ask for?

My brief tenure in NYC was lovely and full of all kinds of fun and friends. My sincere thanks to all who I came across. It's been a long, strange trip. If any of you get out this way, drop me a line, and I'll show you how California likes to party.

I just wanted to get rid of that old blog, so here's a new one! I'm still living the life of a vagabond and taking copious notes on those to whom I owe my life (and warmth and sleep and all of those other glorious things that having a roof over your head provides). Hang tight, folks. When I'm all ballin' and shit, I'll be giving everyone the royal treatment. I humbly thank all my amazing friends (and the cosmos for sending them to me). Mwah.

Oh, camping. Yes, it was quite lovely. My body is still sore, burned and bruised (as noted in my headline) but it is now due to new and exciting causes. I love nature. I think I brought some dirt back to DC with me, and I'm going to put in my bed and role around in it. Hippy woman to the core. I think I've had enough of city life lately. Glad to meet everyone who made it to ECCT and looking forward to seeing many of you again in the near future. Cheers.

So, here I am, blogging like I never do. Just wanted to comment on the new pic I put up. I LOVE IT! And, well, because of my tits hanging out and all, I can't put it on myspace or facebook because I play it (relatively) normal on those websites. Anyway, it was taken when my hair was what I liked to call "construction cone orange," and I was well on my way to getting shitfaced at my friend's tattoo shop in New York. The green shit on my belly is doodles that my friend made while trying to design new ink for me. Later that night, he inked a tiny, pseudo-tattoo on me that is more a memento of a a raucous, drunken night than a valid tattoo.

So, I started my own blog page, so any interested parties, pop over and check it out. www.asterlee.blogspot.com. There's really nothing there yet, but there will be! So, stay tuned.

Look at me! I'm on the internet! With all of my everything hanging out! I have always been the type to let it all hang out. I'm not good at being subtle. So, I'm happy to be here. It's going to be an interesting trip, I'm sure.
