SPOILERS! (Click to view)

Soooo, let's see... I spent Christmas in Marocco. With my mom. Jesus, the last time I had travelled with her was when I was 12, so it was bound to be quite an experience. And, oh my god, it was.

First of all, Casablanca is incredible. When I got there I immediately hated it. Like, ha-ted it. People on the intranets would ask "So, hey, are you enjoying Casa?" and I would simply reply "It's... interesting. I'd never been in a 3rd world country before, you know?". But as I took a walk through the city when night began to fall, something about the place hit me - I was at this smaller, cheesier and definitely rougher Paris. In Africa. In fuckin' Africa. (which reminds me - when I was about to enter the plane to fly to Marocco it hit me and I simply texted my best friend with "Dude... I'm heading to Africa.") So I had no choice but to embrace the place and enjoy it. Marrakech is quite different... it's just too touristic for me. It gets boring after ONE WHOLE HOUR.

There was actually no Christmas what-so-ever. Which was fantastic! I hate the dull family reunions and dinners, giving presents and receiving something just because a stupid date says so. On the 24th I was in my hotel room, in bed, ordering some sandwiches through room services, while working on some stuff on my laptop and watching french cartoons. BEST CHRISTMAS EVER.

On another note, I can't seem to get enough of Bat For Lashes' latest album <3

Oh. And happy new year.

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

I utterly hate the fact that I'm not on a plane on my way to London at this precise moment. Banks - they can fuck you in the ass.
I guess it's a good time to cling to Pimsleur Lessons again. I'm learning japanese and it's hard as fuck. Luckily, yours truly is skilled when it comes to learning languages, so I guess I'm picking it up better than most of the pupils.

Hey, has anyone ever been to Lisbon? I'd love to know the impression this city leaves on whoever comes to visit. Right now I'm finding it boring as hell, yet I see so many students coming here and referring all the amazing stuff they've heard about the place. I mean, what "stuff" is this? I am aware that if you're a religious cunt that Portugal is definitely one of the places to be, but apart from that I hardly find anything interesting to do. And since me and religion are not talking, I've been spending my days in front of my computer, trying to pop something useful out this brain. Go, maggot brain. Go, maggot brain. Oh, and since I desperately need a new computer, this hobby is on the verge of ending.

On other news, since London got canceled, New York and San Francisco were just added to the trip list.

Oh, and, please, check Temper's new set here. I totally loved it. Not dark as her usual sets, I guess, but beautiful nevertheless and with a very interesting... er... theme wink. She looks incredibly hot.

Warning: designwank content below.

So I've finally watched Objectified by Gary Hustwit, the same director from Helvetica. Man, what a mind blowing film. Personally, I absolutely love documentaries, and I would have to say I'm becoming a great fan of Mr, Hustwit.
For those who don't know - and for those who actually care - Objectified is a documentary about design, about the thin and complex relation between objects and life, their impact on our environment and how a well thought and carried object can enhance one's life.
It's also a documentary about designers, how they work, how they mark their objects with their own personal touch. It features lots of iconic designers, including Dieter Rams, Tim Brown and Bill Moggridge (from IDEO; Bill Moggridge actually designed the very first laptop), Naoto Fukasawa and Chris Bangle - who may be one the most intelligent guys I've ever had the pleasure to hear.

I was already smitten by Hustwit's work when I saw Helvetica, but with Objectified, he's on the edge of becoming one of my favorite documentary films director. Both films are part of a three-film “design trilogy” and details on the third one should be released soon (or so I hope!)

I've recently discovered a new passion - typography. It's interesting - I've been so emerged and devoted to editing video and motion graphics, that I've totally neglected my fondness for graphic design. Shame on me. But I'm committed to rectify that. I've been devouring books about typography, watching documentaries on it, studying everything that is humanly possible about the subject. Whenever I find something I enjoy, I tend to obsess about it. Obsessive good, though. Obsessive good.

On another subject, I'm shooting two sets next week. As always, chances of them ever seeing the front page light are probably remote. Heck, I'll give it a try, right?
I'm off to London in November, Casablanca for Christmas with my mom, and Tokyo in February - I'm still dreaming about this one, though. I was next in the waiting list for the Amsterdam trip, but the invitation came one day too late... Shit, I was totally down for hanging out with two dozens of hot chicks in Dam.

Am I the only person who's completely hooked on FlashForward? I saw the 5 episodes yesterday and I'd say I've found something to entertain me until Lost's next and final season comes out!

Ok, this was probably the biggest blog I've ever written. I'll be updating soon. Or in 2010. Hopefully, with these on my feet:
