Which languages do you have? Is English your native tongue? When I can't travel, I do the google maps thing and visit places virtually. I spent hours "in" Lisboa a few months ago. The place has some charming architecture and I'm a nerd for that. I'm really into boats, so I dig the marinas along the shore, and I would like to take a trip up the river. Anyway, I have a weird question for you about the place. West of the city the coast turns north, making a very nice breast shape, by the way. Right on the nipple, there's a curious set of concrete buildings that radiate outward from a central building and go into the water. It's off Av. Ns Do Caba near the Parque Natural de Cintra Cascais. Have you been there and do you know what these buildings are for? (Just a dumb observation that made me curious.)

Lately I've been visiting Denmark and grooving on its language. Such a useless language to learn because EVERYONE there speaks English, and it's the smallest Scandinavian country, pop 5.7 million, so the professional values of Dansk is limited. It's a hard language to learn and also to speak. But several studies show that Danes are the happiest people in the world, and that's got to count for something, right? They have killer industrial designers, and especially of mod furniture (one of my weaknesses). I really like their socialist economy where there are few rich people and even fewer poor people. Even the garbage man is treated with respect and the prince is an apprentice carpenter. I like that. So I thought I'd learn the language and go visit. The grammar is easier than French, which I've spoken for years. Plus, I know of no one else who speaks it -- and that's a plus, oddly. Have you ever been to Denmark?

But I'm glad you get to come here I'm learning japanese too get the proper tone of the syllables is what gets me. Keep at it, then make trip to Japan. Im going in a year. Hardly got into Portugal -- or any southern European country for that matter -- until it came as a potential, now certain, destination for our trip next year. Cost was the defining choice for me, but I had to do some research to justify the decision beyond that.

And even if it's not my personnal wet dream, for many reasons I think that what awaits there is pretty effing interesting.
