November is proving to be a bit of madness - as I suspected it would be, and it will get worse before it gets any better. The weekend was as busy as the work week and I’m dying for a holiday, but that will have to wait till next month. I’m expecting at least one moment of cuckooness before Christmas, so watch this space.

There’s always time for cuddles though, and no animal is safe from my love. On Saturday morning I went to a market which is quite a popular hangout for people with dogs. Wherever you go there are big puppies, small puppies, fuzzy ones and bald ones. Like really bald! Donald Trump without a roadkill on his head kind of bald… surreal

We also found a lady that runs a little rescue centre and she had a few of her animals to show. These all have injuries that prevent them from ever living in the wild, or are too small to be released just yet.

And of course, my favourites – monkeys! There was a troop running around at the local SPCA, so I managed to snap a few pics between book hunting and stuffing my face with food.

Oh, and have I mentioned that pilates did wonders not only for my abs, but for my ass too. Say ‘thank you, Lumo’. biggrin

P.S. Shadow got attacked by one of the new cats. The ginger one came into our garden and kicked her furry ass. She got bitten on the leg and was limping quite badly yesterday. Gave a call to her vet this morning, but he said to just monitor her and bring her straight in if anything seems off. She’s much better now and has stopped limping, but she not interested in going out anymore.

poor Shadow frownmiao!!
I feel bad for her, but, again, maybe that's the lesson that needed to be learned.
Either that, or cue up the bad 80's movie training montage (ala Rocky II, III, etc.)
and get her ninja back on.

Those owls are awesome,
as are the Newfoundlands (?)
monkeys
on the other hand . . .
aren't really my thing. whatever

Hope that Shadow is ok. Cats can be so mean to each other. Like small children in a school yard. The owls are adorable and that is a great shot of the leaping monkey. Still love those angel wings, they are almost convincing wink love

Those owls are beautiful. The same lady sets up at the Shongweni Farmers Market sometimes, she was there last week. I feel so sorry for the animals because people crowd around them and handle them, surely it must freak them out a bit. I understand she needs to show the animals off in order to get donations etc for the rescues, but she needs to manage it a bit better. Shes also quite rough with the animals, my boyfriend got so upset because she shook and hit the box the baby owl was in to get it into another box for transportation. Oh, and nice ass eeek

So jealous - I love animals and sometimes wish I lived in a place where there were more. The owls are lovely, my favourite bird I think.
Poor pussycat - just keep an eye out in case the bite gets infected - not always easy to spot. We've had two nasty unwelcome tom cats over the years "Eats-shoots and leaves" - he used to come through the catflap into the conservatory and squirt and Marmalade a big nasty ginger one. I always threatened to get one of those super pump water pistols, fill it with a mixture of my piss and water and lie in wait! The wife wasn't too keen on the idea though frown
