So...I've come to the difficult realization that I am an alcoholic. With the help of my loving family and friends I've decided to get some help and entered a program...I am 5 days sober and love it. I'm sure it will be a difficult road ahead but I'm determined to overcome the hardships.

I haven't had a drink in 680 days. Our book Alcoholics Anonymous and the 12 Steps will be all you need.

We're all here for you. One of my best friends (best man at my wedding) is now 16 months sober. I'm very close to his process. I was in the front lines of the fight all these years leading up to now. Feel free to talk to me anytime. *hugs*

I'm glad to hear you are taking steps to correct a problem you perceive in yourself. That is often the most difficult choice to even arrive at, because we are either overly critical and think everything is wrong (so nothing can be done) or we convince ourselves that we're just fine, things are as they should be, and they couldn't be any other way...
