I have not been able to enjoy films..I get bored..and I am sure everyone hates to hear me talk about how Deadwood is the only thing I want to see

so I decided that I need a good book...reading comes in waves...sometimes I read books by the dozen...sometimes it takes me a week to finish a chapter

I think my problem was...all I was reading lately was from male homosexuals..Augusten Burroughs, David Sedaris, John Waters..a girl needs a break, I needed something different...well this paired with the fact that I wanted to see horror films..I decided to get some..ugh..Stephen King, I read his books when I was young...and I actually have a story about it..I posted this in the horror group so I am just going to copy and paste..

I read Pet Sematary when I was younger...true story...my cat died while I was in the middle of the book and it was summer..on a weekend, so my mom put my cat in a garbage bag in the freezer to preserve it...so it wouldn't stink because we couldn't get to the vet's office to properly dispose him..we lived in an upper flat above a store on a busy street in the city..no back yard

it creeped me out... a lot

anyhow..I just finished "Carrie..

it was good..a quick read, I read it in less than a day and it was more satisfying than a shitty film so that's good..now I am going to read "The Shining" and I am actually scared...the movie scared the hell out of me..and books seem to freak me out more than films...

oh..hey, I am naked again
go take a look

Your little story here sounds a LOT like mine! Haha. Have you ever read any good science fiction? I find that's a fucking amazing in between.

you naked? no...couldnt be tongue
I just started 2 books, palahnuik's "Rant" and a book by the title of The Lemur. Rant's alright kinda slow at the beginning, but I'm hoping it gets better. The Lemur is pretty cool so far. It's short so I'd recommend it.

that's uh....one hell of a way to read pet semetary. I know the movie maximum overdrive pretty much made me afraid of steam rollers and big rigs for the longest time.

I struggle with films these days, they rarely keep my attention for long. Whereas books, the imagination runs wild and you feel somewhat rewarded at the end.

Gotta agree with Cherry though, Sci-Fi is the way forward. wink

ALL WORK AND NO PLAY MAKES JACK A DULL BOY.

I like "The Dead Zone" and "Salem's Lot" best of his stuff, I think.

Now see if you wanted to go into a horror reading frame of mind, you could have stuck with the male homosexual author as well and went with Clive Barker, as I would have. His short story collections, The Books of Blood, are excellent. Definitely something to think about, but I always try to push him on people because I absolutely love his work.

Actually, as far as The Shining goes, Stanley Kubrick's movie is better than the book. (IMHO, that is.) I'm with you on Pet Sematary though...

I read prolifically, never read any Stephen King though, or maybe one or two. But not any of his horror.

That cat storey was a little creepy. that vid clip was awesome, i forgot how much they like the word cunt on that show. i find it way easier to offend people with it when i need to.
I have just been reading mostly autobiographies lately.
