is that a still from the douglas gordeon exhibition? i went to that the other day. i was totally blown away. i guess it;s my stupid obsession for trashy horror black and whites. i wish i could have seen the 24 hour psycho bit at the part of the movie with the stabbing. xx
He he! Do you feel better now? I hope so. Let me know if you have any trouble finding any of the music. I've been trying to upload a version of me playing the Poulenc, but my FTP thingy is having a hiccup (all of my music is there except my guitar CD I recorded a few years back...).
Weekend has been kinda' slow, but nice. My girlfriend and I went shopping yesterday and found my brother a present for the holidays. Men are impossible to shop for (especially when they are right-wing, conservative christians). Other than that, I've been letting my ears heal from the concert Friday night. How's your weekend been?
meaw i felt so useless wrapping the stuffs in tissue when your mum bought stuffs from the shop cause she is THE BEST at wrapping gifts.... hope your evening was nice... im feeling a lit better just a common house cold now... how was your weekend so far? hope your well my dear apart from making costumes im free most evenings this week oh and jeff gave me an invite for you so you free sometime next few evenings...
You're so silly. Stop beating yourself up ofver little things and realize that little ladies in other countries absolutely adore you and wish we were closer
I read your journal a few days ago, and just wanted to say I really love your self portrait. I always enjoy reading your entries, they are real, not mediocre like many others on here.

Drexciya is one of my favourite musical things. The concept in the music of an underwater civilisation created by the babies born from pregnant women thrown from ships during the slave trade is one of the best. Unfortunately James Stinson who was the main guy behind it died 2002. His sometime Drexciyan partener, Gerald Donald is very much respected in his own right and contiues to make quality music as 'Dopplereffekt' and 'Arpanet'.
I'm better now I'm off this week. I had to delay this week off as work went tits up in October when I had original booked. You're right, Edinburgh is totaly rubbish for interesting recitals, especially at this time of year, it's all seasonal shit. Half the time I can't be arsed searching because the listings are so much harder to read than for bands after you factor in the conductor, orchestra, pieces etc. I suppose you have to be in the know to know what's coming when. I saw a Glass recital once at the Queens hall. It was a piece for flutes, not my most favourite instrument in the world, but it was OK if a little boring. A full on orchestral workout including some of the 12Parts would be just the job. When I was at college I lived with this guy who was a total Glass freak, he went to London for this huge Glass recital event where he (Glass) was actually playing with a full on orchestra, I wish I had went in hindsight.
That Shutov installation looks pretty mad, I didn't know anythiing else about him bar that CD, which I can do you a copy of if you like. I believe it was composed mostly on the Yamaha DX7 synth, one of his favourites. I once went to see an Eno installtion in London called the White Cube in 1997. Couldn't see any links for it on the surface of google. As far as I can recall, it was basically this white cube room with 4 stereos playing the same piece of ambient music at different points. Nice effect. You do get a lot of guys swooning of Eno, but what can you do when he's had his hand in so much decent work His vast body of solo work, Roxy Music, David Bowie, Talking Heads, U2 (ahem indecent), creation of 'Ambient Music' and many other instalations and productions.
How was your presentation? Was it Friday past?
You should have asked me to your event. Im good with families
Our gigs were ok. I did not have flan
Friday - Hawick. At least 120 kids there and I mean kids. It seems the youth of today would rather dance to Good Charlotte records played over the PA than watch bands. Pish. I had no dinner
Saturday - Glasgow. Was very busy, no-one there to see us, Polite applause. I had chips and gravy
Sunday - Perth, Pretty dead but a good laugh until three nut jobs came in, set off a fire extinguisher and we had to call the babylon. I had four slices of toast for dinner. When I got home I had a can of coke zero and two packets of Skips while watching UFC. I then attempted to learn Gung Ho by Anthrax at 2 in the morn. Bad move
Tonight I am off to see Mistress in Glasgow, you should come and listen to tales of my meta youth. l
