It is not just about gay rights; it is about equal rights; it is about human rights. It is about overcoming an obstacle and reinstating justice. This is America, the greatest fucking country on the earth. Its about reminding people of this fact.
In Idaho, and more than half of the other states Gays, Lesbians, Bisexuals, and Transgenders are not protected by the human rights act for fair employment, housing and education. So today my children and I participated in a peaceful protest where many people all over the state gathered and shared information about this subject, and encouraged everyone to help push the issue and add the words "sexual orientation" and "gender identity" to Idaho's Human Rights Act.
Still, the battle continues while people, everyday, are posting sticky notes on the doors of the state's capital building urging the senate to make this change. I am proud to be a part of this. When this issue changes for the better, I will be proud to look back and remind my children that they too were a part of this--until this change happens, we will continue to peacefully fight for it.
There were many rallies across the state, with a few I went to and one just a few minutes from my house (which I did not make it to because getting up before noon is hard lol), one in down town nampa, and one at the state capital building in boise.

this is representative Cherie Buckner Webb, who started her speech off by belting out some "born this way" by Lady Gaga...and I have to say, she does Gaga better than Gaga does Gaga! It was amazing!

The girl in the blue shirt..watch out for her. Only 17 and already making a difference for gay students, and adults everywhere. She brought up something in her speech that really irks me when I hear people say it-- she said that when she came out so many people told her she was too young to know if she was gay. Why doesnt this same rule apply to straight teens/kids? Wouldnt they also be too young to know if they are straight? But you never hear people questioning them. Anyways, I am very proud of her for making a change in the world.

I will add more pictures that I take from tomorrow news paper!
Now to switch subjects a bit
yummy!

The Rundown:
My nephew is in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at the children’s hospital. He has a non curable genetic disease. It is called Spinal Muscular Atrophy type 1. He has been there for just about 2 weeks now. He is the first and only baby to be documented in Idaho with this disease, so resources to help him are limited, and he will need to be transferred out of state soon.
My brother has been laid off from work for a little over 2 months now. Both my brother and his wife (my best friend candypanties) spend most of their day at the hospital with my youngest nephew…though, my brother has also been job hunting also. They have 3 older children, who have been bouncing between the care of me, my mother, and now my sister-in-law’s mother.
So far my nephew has crashed 3 times, and they have managed to get him stabilized again. I am not sure how many more times they are going to do this, but they feel at the moment he is crashing because he has a virus attacking him at the same time the disease is taking its course. After the virus clears his system he will be stable enough (they hope) to move out of P.I.C.U., and into pediatrics long term care, and eventually to a hospital that can provide the proper care for him. There are a few throughout the states, however they are all pretty far from where we currently live—Seattle, Salt Lake City, LA, and I think Portland Or was on the list as well, are the ones closest to us.
My nephew has a feeding tube, and a breathing tube at the moment. They will most likely have to change the type of breathing tube to a trachea tube, and his type of feeding tube will be changed as well.
ON TOP OF ALL THIS, the doctors told my brother and sis-n-law they need to get rid of all pets, and have sterilized room in the house. They have a tiny house already…I think its like 900 sqft or smaller… So my mother, sister, and I went over to their house one day to do damage control, and we discovered mold. And not just a small area of mold, but that house is covered in mold, in the hardwood, in the walls under the sink, behind the bathtub, and around the windows…and that is just what we found, so who knows how bad it really is. SO now my brother is in the middle of applying for section 8 housing…but there is a waiting list. Things are so crazy at the moment, its really hard to decide which way to plan for.
I will admit this though; I am trying to help them raise money through donations to help pay for medical expenses, but in all honesty I think a funeral isn’t too far off.
IF EVERYONE WHO READS THIS COULD PLEASE PASS ALONG THE LINK AT THE TOP OF THE PAGE, I WILL FOREVER BE GRATEFUL!!

On a lighter note; I had to lecture the boys the other day for playing wiener tag. I was in my house, working on homework, at my dining room table, and behind me the sliding glass door was open so I could hear all the kids playing outside. It sounded like a normal game of tag, until the laughter got louder and more hysterical, so I peeked out side to see my sons and my nephews all chasing each other with their lil wieners hanging out. They didn’t like have their pants pulled all the way down or anything, but just had the tips of their penises sticking out the top of their pants…so at first I couldn’t even tell what they were doing. Let me tell you, trying to keep a straight face while lecturing them was impossible. I had to keep covering my face and saying “im so disappointed right now, I cant even look at you” or “im so sad at this situation that I am crying,” as soon as I got away from them I laughed so hard. Then telling my sister-in-law about it, last night when I went to visit my nephew at the hospital, had both of us laughing so hard that we nearly pee’d our pants…literally. I think she needed that laugh.
