Hell City 2012 - Killumbus, Ohio! This weekend I took an epic roadtrip with Briscoe and SoBelle.
Before we left for Ohio, I shot a new set with SoBelle in the backwoods of Illinois. I will have a preview video for you soon. But in the meantime, think black lace and an epic tree.
I shit you not, there was a lion in an upturned silo where we shot. The redneck in me glowed with pride (get it? Pride? Wow...lol
Then it was back to the room to perv on Decklynn while she shot with SoBelle. What a rad chick! And...DAT ASS!
Dinner at Betty's.
We had some issues with the parking meter. ((shakes fist))
Cajun Crab Quesadillas with Black Beans and Roasted Corn Salsa. *dies*
The bathroom was all tricked out with pinup paintings!
We attempted to give my hair some retro curls...
But my locks are so obstinate that we pretty much ended up with this. #fail
Snuck a peek while Dovah got her chest piece done.
I am pink! This really is a dream come true! Upon getting The Text from my boo cudnovati, I alternated between fits of jaunty celebratory jigs, tears, stunned silence, only to begin the cycle over again.
Please disregard the Derp-ness of this video and the fact I cuss like a sailor.
The support has been un-fucking-real. I am so moved. Truly, all my friends have given me new life with their kind words and love.
I am a little late to the game but have already garnered 41 votes in one day for the New Model Contest with my set Street Corner Girl (shot by SoBelle)! Who knows? If I'm lucky enough maybe I can snatch the $500 prize from the clutches of the big-wigs! If you don't have a Zivity account but wanna check it out, message me and I can email you a FREE trial membership!
Anyway, I've been there only a bit more than 24 hours and already feel welcomed by the community. Hope to see you guys there!
Happenings:
Housewarming and birthday stuff with the fam.
Made a Wii-mote cake for my little bro-in-law's 9th birthday. Homemade buttercream. NOM!
Game of Thrones marathons. I'm almost completely caught up! (I've seen all of season 1 and just need to catch up with the new episodes of this season!)
It's pretty much the most immediately engrossing show I've ever seen. Stunning cinematography and wonderfully complex characters. Unf! So in love!
Whaaaa? Today's the 20th of April...and such. Man. While I didn't indulge on this exact date (had to work at 4am), the past couple days have been awash in The Haze.
But I did do another kind of baking today... Here's a glamour shot of me doing the early morning shift:
Big hugs and thanks to warchildrex for sending me copies of the extended LOTR DVDs! I am so relieved to own them again after byronNME accidentally sold them.
Look at this rad fanart piece by my friend witchartist!
Hey, sailor...
If these little dudes are dancing, life must be pretty damn good. (May I please adopt the muffin on the right?)
Woo hoo! Big thanks to every single one of you who have supported my new set Prelude to a Kiss.
The response I've gotten has been so overwhelmingly positive, and each comment/message really warms my heart. I really hope this set is "the one" for me. SG has been such a wonderful part of my life these past 3 years, and I can't wait to see what else this kickass place has in store for me.
The following was stuck in my head all day this morning while I made the donuts at work:
So wrong. Yet so amazing!
Han's inner monologue set to shitty 21st century pop song: "The carbonite is gone, I'm movin on". Epic.
Lando doing the Chewie hug is quite snazzy also.
My life as of late:
Red Velvet Cheesecake
Adventure Time
Self snapshots
Homemaking
I painted this cute little canvas for our kitchen:
Weekend plans? FINALLY setting up my stripper pole.
Content.
This past week has been chock full of love and catharsis.
Settling down after an exhausting move-in day.
Having lived in a basement apartment prior, this new place and its huge windows spoil us with wonderful sunshine. It already feels like home.
Speaking of home... I spent 3 days with my best girlie Briscoe.
We snuggled.
We laughed at her tremendously epic cats.
I derped around with an awesome map shower curtain (which may or may not have included me licking México).
I admired Mr. Samuel Shell Jackson (when you press his arm he says "Hold onto your butts!")
We dined at a tasty Irish restaurant (smoked goat cheese for an appetizer and a Jameson burger for me).
I miss her already! I can't wait to see her again in May for our Hell City trip!
Guess whaaaaaat... 6 days until my new set "Prelude to a Kiss" hits review!
Woooooot! We got the apartment, and we're moving in on the 31st!
The next week or so is gonna be crazy stressful. Lots of sorting and packing to do.
But I cannot wait to start fresh in a swinging new pad! It feels so much more like a home than our current place.
((squeals))
I can't wait to decorate!
Madison bound! Between all the craziness of moving, I thankfully get a little slice of special girly time with Briscoe next week.
I have missed my love muffin so very much, and can't wait to be back in the great state of Wisconsin.
Let the shenanigans begin!
Trying on new work pants is not so fun. Until the tits come out...?
Lately I can't shake this visceral frustration. Swirling wants repeating madly, halting only for moments of tangible experience that snap painfully back into the everyday.
The classic Platonian dichotomy. The mentally conjured ideal versus the actual.
Do the fleeting ecstasies felt in the occasional vivid dream or in the pages of a Tolkien novel have parallels in our waking life? Is the nature of desire a one way street that always begins and ends with the limitations of our own imaginations?
I am obsessed with the power of the human mind and often wonder if our creativity as evolved beings doesn't give us false hopes of what could be. Is it possible to unlock the wonder and passion of fantasy, detach it from the realm of the imagined and experience it first hand?
Perhaps this is just something geeks such as myself keep tethered to our hearts, hoping real life doesn't actually pale in comparison to what our brains can create. As an atheist, perhaps this dilemma burns for me as a secular version of "is that all there is?" If I can feel something so strongly yet it doesn't actually exist then why not delve forever into fantasy?
The Matrix and Inception tackle these questions. Hypothetical mind endeavors carried out themselves in cinematic creations of human thought. Talk about a hall of mirrors mind-fuck.
Anyway, I am increasingly unable to reconcile these burning desires that both tantalize and torment...
First things first. My new set "Prelude to a Kiss" hits review next month! writeboy really outdid himself with this one.
I love it and can't wait for you all to see it.
Until that time comes, here's a wee bitty teaser:
So...what's up with you guys?
I've been obsessed with Pixlr after discovering it this week. It's too much fun, I tells ya!
(So from here on out expect an inordinate amount of pixlr'd pics
New Lolita shades.
I am in love with my new MyMimi pillow. Their names are Friedrich and Bubble.
Welcome to the kingdom of Everrealm!
I've put some road behind me and am liking where it's taking me...
