My little Lola muffin passed away last week.
On Tuesday afternoon I did my usual post-work ritual of stopping by her cage to sing to her while I change out of my uniform. I peeked in...she was flat and not moving. I called her name and she didn't respond. I started bawling and could barely handle it. I left the house for a bit while byronNME took care of her. He wrapped her in a towel, put her in a box, and placed her in the river across the street. Just picturing that is too much for me even now. I loved that guinea pig and I will miss giving her baths and laughing at her late night squeaking.
I was in a car accident the last week of December.
It was bad and very scary. The car was totaled. Thankfully though both the other driver and I walked away unscathed. I haven't talked about it here yet because I wasn't ready until now. Ever since the crash I've been really paranoid about death. Worrying about losing a loved one or even dying myself.
Crossroads.
All this thinking has done me good though. I'm really focused on what's important now. Positive things are to come.l

Oh honey, I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. 
and so very glad that you weren't hurt in the car accident. I know that it must have been terrifying. I think it's normal to be thinking about mortality and the fragility of life after something so traumatic... not to mention having lost a pet your deeply loved... I know, in time, you'll find your footing again. Just let yourself grieve and heal in whatever time it takes.

im so sorry about your loss
i had a guinea pig when i was a kid, and i remember being devastated when mine died.
