My new year has been off to a shaky start.

My little Lola muffin passed away last week.

On Tuesday afternoon I did my usual post-work ritual of stopping by her cage to sing to her while I change out of my uniform. I peeked in...she was flat and not moving. I called her name and she didn't respond. I started bawling and could barely handle it. I left the house for a bit while byronNME took care of her. He wrapped her in a towel, put her in a box, and placed her in the river across the street. Just picturing that is too much for me even now. I loved that guinea pig and I will miss giving her baths and laughing at her late night squeaking.

I was in a car accident the last week of December.

It was bad and very scary. The car was totaled. Thankfully though both the other driver and I walked away unscathed. I haven't talked about it here yet because I wasn't ready until now. Ever since the crash I've been really paranoid about death. Worrying about losing a loved one or even dying myself.

Crossroads.
All this thinking has done me good though. I'm really focused on what's important now. Positive things are to come.l

Lola received so much love from you. You gave her the happiest home possible. I wish you strength during this time of loss.

And so glad that you survived that horrible accident back in December

when i was 18 i had a goldfish named Buddy. i had bought him because i hadn't had a pet for a long time and dogs and cats were never allowed in my house. one night i got home after a night out with friends to find him dead. i was so bummed. i woke my mom up to do the deed.

sorry to year about your guinea pig. any pet fills a person with love.

as for near death experiences, I'm glad that you're still with us and that you didn't let it completely unnerve you. The thing about life and death is that there really is a fine line between them, we walk it every day when we wake and even more when we sleep. But everyone's here for a reason, some purpose--no matter how seemingly insignificant. And once that is done with, that's when we're allowed death. Your destiny hasn't been fulfilled yet, I can tell. <3

Grim news about your guinea pig, made me give mine a little extra celery this evening. Car wrecks will screw with you like any other traumatic event. I jumped in a canyon once in a car I owned for 24 days. My mom and my daughters would love those angry birds cakes.

I've always been terrified of car accidents, so I drive like an old lady. My first ticket came from driving to slow. Honest. Lol. When I was a teenager I lost my best friend from a car accident, so that "immortality status" that a lot of youngsters think they have never resided in me. Ever since then, I've been careful. I am so glad to hear you are ok, though.

And I'm sorry about your Lola.

Oh! I'm sorry to hear about Lola! When Tina Broadway (my guinea pig) died I couldn't sleep in my bedroom for a week. They are the most adorable creatures I swear.
A deathlike experience is frigging scary and I'm happy both you and the other driver made it out alive. Please take care of yourself.
Angry birds? If I was nearby I'd ask you to make a Kirby cupcake yum!!!!!
