My new year has been off to a shaky start.

My little Lola muffin passed away last week.

On Tuesday afternoon I did my usual post-work ritual of stopping by her cage to sing to her while I change out of my uniform. I peeked in...she was flat and not moving. I called her name and she didn't respond. I started bawling and could barely handle it. I left the house for a bit while byronNME took care of her. He wrapped her in a towel, put her in a box, and placed her in the river across the street. Just picturing that is too much for me even now. I loved that guinea pig and I will miss giving her baths and laughing at her late night squeaking.

I was in a car accident the last week of December.

It was bad and very scary. The car was totaled. Thankfully though both the other driver and I walked away unscathed. I haven't talked about it here yet because I wasn't ready until now. Ever since the crash I've been really paranoid about death. Worrying about losing a loved one or even dying myself.

Crossroads.
All this thinking has done me good though. I'm really focused on what's important now. Positive things are to come.l

Again, I'm sorry about Lola - - our pig Badger was sick for the first time last week, it's sad and off-putting to see a pig not their normal self - - I know Lola had a life full of love, and really, isn't that all any o' us can ask?

I'm also sorry to hear of the accident. However, as you say, no one was hurt, so . . .
aye, take what blessings you can get.

I'm thinking you've gotten the suck out of the way now, and the remainder of 2012 can just rock.

I'm sorry about your Lola, it's really sad that you came home & found her like that. It sounds like she had a good life while she was here & that you really cared about her. It's good to hear that you weren't hurt in that wreck. I've been rear ended so many times I watch the rear view mirror as much as I look forward. The picture at the end is really awesome, you look beautiful!

So we both ended the year on a low note, and brought a little of that with us into the new... Sorry about Lola

I like the pigs best in Angry Birds, they are always happily having fun!

The bewbs are going a long way towards making the new year better!
