time for an update...

what a fantanstically maniacal and sleepless world i've been to since i
last updated.

i've been hovering over the flatbeds at school feverishly working on my
film. i've pulled a lot of late nights at school (i.e. getting home from school usually about 3am or so). i finally locked my film (picture and sound) last friday night and had my sound mix tuesday morning. i am so relieved and excited that it's mostly done. i hope to have a print by mid summer. i got another refund check from school, so it should cover the cost of neg cutting, optical track, and a print. maybe an i.p. and i.n. too. in any case, my birthday and graduation are soon, so that should help cover whatever my refund can't. high five for me. awesome is oozing out of my pores right
now.

for anyone that's mildly curious, it's an entirely hand processed 10 minute b/w and color 16mm experimental documentary about my grandmother's experience in the japanese internment camps as well as a portrait of her life.

my birthday is coming up, and i haven't had much time to really think about it. i feel like time is passing by so quickly. i can't believe that i'll be 23. i don't know where the time goes.

gea was here not too long ago. i was hoping that that weekend would never end. she is truly cuter than the cutest thing you can imagine. i want to keep her all to myself. i don't want to let another two years pass before i see her again. i will forever have a crush on this girl.

edited to add: coachella was buttloads of fun, as it always is. cheers to my 5th coachella attendance.

something i just realized a few days ago... weezer always releases a new album during my birthday week. i'd like to think that this is intentional.

EDITED TO ADD: friends request is on auto decline. i don't care if you think that's snotty/bitchy/stickupmyassity etc etc etc. i feel weird about accepting requests when i have no idea who in the hell the person is. i don't know why you might possibly find me that interesting, but just in case you do, there is a "bookmark as interesting" feature so you don't have to send friend requests to people you don't know. i'm sure that a lot of friend requesters are not reading this, but at least i can say that i publically ranted about it for the millionth time and you therefore cannot take it personally or go on any psychotic fit about how i'm a bitch just because i set my friend request to auto decline. the end.

That's terrific! You must be really proud. I'd really like to see this...I am fascinated by this somewhat buried part of Japanese-American history.

Congrats on the impending completion of the project, it sounds very cool. Seems like only yesterday we were all slipping into that club on the down-low at the pre-ordained moment, and then laughing at seeing so many people we'd just left at some other shindig to go wish a happy 21st birthday to you. That was a great night, and I hope that you have even more fun with your approaching 23rd.

I want to see it! I do.

Reverse the numbers and you have my age. I always feel the clocks are ticking my for me. I still haven't written that great American novel.

Holy effing crap... I JUST saw your new set... I don’t know how I missed it.

Next time... steal some plutonium from a secret nuclear test facility, replace it with some VO5 and glitter, make a dirty bomb, and detonate it in my neighborhood when you have a new set go up. kthx. That’ll get my attention.

also... dont let John Lithgow clip all the wires at once and defuse the bomb.. I hate it when he does that.

Good luck on the film.
Have you ever seen that show "Project Greenlight"?
Behind the scenes making movie is interesting.

The film you're making is the kind of thing I'd like to see.

COngrats on your progress. Working on flatbeds is such a satisfying yet nerve-racking experience. I wish that I was able to get a placement where I could work with film again instead of all the new-fangled NLEs.

I hope you get a good response to your piece and get it out on the circuit. Bring it to us here in Cleveland! 20,000 Leagues Under the Industry
