Alright... I need to go on a diet.

I have a habit of toning up for photoshoots but in the 2 weeks between shooting I indulge in anything that has dairy, cheese, chocolate or hops in it. In massive quantity. I don't say no to myself. So maybe this blog will keep me accountable to actually lose weight.

I feel like I need to post a before so see below, this was taken a few days ago. I think I ate myself a pound or two of sushi and microbrews since then, but you get the general idea of what I look like. Then I'll post an after in about 2 weeks, after my next round of photoshoots. My goal is to lose a few pounds and flatten my little belly. Tips? Lets hear them.

I work out quite a bit so co-workers ask me quite a bit about being healthy. All things in moderation, I say. That, and lots of activity...cardiovascular activity. There is no replacement for cardio to burn calories...it is a pain in the ass and can be time-consuming but it pays off big time if you stick with it.

If you only have two weeks and want to tone up...lay off the nigiri rice and just stick with straight sashimi. The fatty acids are great for you and the lean fish will be all the protein. almost no fat. Eat something for breakfast...or, better yet, DRINK something. I usually down one of those probiotic drinks before I head to the office in the morning and it keeps me from being peckish until lunchtime, sometimes I even skip lunch if I'm busy. If you can give your body _just_ enough to be satisfied, your hunger will stave off for a while, especially in the morning.

When in Japan, I marvelled at how everyone looked thin, if not outright in-shape. Their portions are very sensible. Try to stick to just smaller portions at mealtime...portions in the US are totally out of control.

The course? Intermediate Fiction. We wrote 3 shorts at 400 words, and 2 at 4000 words. Today, we watched a movie (as I posted elsewhere, that means that I rented a Netflix movie for roughly $100).
EW.

Do hummus instead of cheese. The darkest chocolates possible instead of your run-of-the-mill Hershey. Maybe Guiness instead of hoppy beers (or wine), but if you drop alcohol altogether, the weight will FALL off of you.
I have the tendency to do the same as you.

Last summer I had a great workout routine and diet for myself, but it's slacked off so much with school and work overload. I gained 4 collective inches and 12 pounds! I've lost about 7 of those pounds, and going for another 6, and to get to about 17% bodyfat. Therefore, I'm kinda just waiting for the weather to break a little more (ugh, 40degree weather and the many hills of Pittsburgh) and its all cardio from here.

You look great in your photo, so I'm hoping you're not stressing over it.

I need a 'yoga for beginners so you can fuck better' course.

If anyone ever needed any proof as to why you are, like, the perfect woman for a man...THIS would be it. I love you, will you marry me? wink

Flexibility is a really great goal for you while you are young. As you get older the connective tissue in your body (tendons and ligaments) lose their elasticity and you _never_ get that back. Later in life, the only thing you can do to gain flexibility is to lengthen the actual MUSCLE fibers, which is more painful, more difficult, and doesn't last. Do your yoga and stretching NOW while you still can. Once that connective tissue is lengthened, it is very easy to maintain.

try snacking on some veggies instead of candy if yer a candy person, take a look at things like coffee and whatnot, are you loadin' up on sugar and cream? little things make a big difference! my mom was making me watch all these shows like biggest loser and some bbc show called you are what you eat. they were pointing out a bunch of little things. sushi can't be that bad can it? speaking of which...where's a good place in philly to get it!?

1. your before picture is amazing

2. take the stairs. always. or at least if you're going up less than 5 flights.

much easier to add exercise than to subtract beer.

Ah ha indeed!

Well I'll start off by asking you what I ask my clients when they first come to me
1) normal daily diet ( this includes what you typically eat and drink in a day, as well as number of meals a day) ?

2) cardio (intensity 1-10, distance, time, Xs aweek)?

3) exercise (how you train, what you train, how often, what kind of equipment you have access to)?

No no. You don't need to have a ton of money. You just need to be young, urban and awesomely self-absorbed. Like the rest of us. We're all welcome.

Also, you look great. What're the photoshoots for?

god you look beautiful, you dont need to lose weight at all.
but if you want to tone up im the person to help, im a competitive boxer so being in shape is number one to me. i think the best exercise for over all toning is jumping rope, burns a shit fuck load of calories too, and maybe do some squats and light weights.
youre beautiful, truly.
stay as you are!

You would be amazed at how easy it all is. Especially since you seem pretty bright and perceptive, you probably do a lot of the things naturally. Most interrogation courses I've done has just made me go "Oh... that's why I do that..."
