So then *I* get called dumb. The American Revolution happens to be one of my favorite parts of history; I know what I'm talking about.

I went to the zoo with my mom yesterday and of course all the big cats were sleeping, but the baby elephant is still fucking cute and the birds were out. I wore bad shoes, though, so my feet are a little tired. I also saw The Importance of Being Ernest... I liked the one they made us watch in senior english a bit better, actually.

It is cold today, which is a welcome relief, but also it is rainy.

Don't worry about it, serious students of history will look at this objectively, without any current political motivation, as some people here seem to. In any case, yeah, it's raining, sounds like a good day to head up to Seattle and sit around downtown.

Honestly, to starty namecalling over someone stating a serious opinion in a historical discussion is stupid in itself. The debates the thing!

better it rained today instead of yesterday...then no animals would have been out to play...

i feel as though the rain has this soothing effect..almost perfect for sundays...where all people should do is lay in bed...under the covers...and let their mind drift...

i agree with what was said before..really history buffs will look at what has been going on here subjectively...cause when it comes down to it, it's just a debate nothing more or less...

have a great day

I fucking love Oscar Wilde. I wish I had more time to read his works. I think I've read more about him than by him.

I'd love to see a stage production of "Ernest." Movies are okay, but this, I feel, should be theatrical.

I may see Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead this week.

I love zoos!!! as long as I don't think about the animals being confined in small spaces solely for our education and entertainment. But I love seeing babies and penguins and polar bears and tiger sand monkeys!!

Have you ever seen Creature Comforts? It's hysterical!! It's done by Nick Park who made Chicken Run, Wallace & Grommet, etc. It is a little short where an off-screen presence is interviewing animals about their lives in the zoo. You have to see it. It's completely brilliant.

It's so rare to hear someone as young as you speak so affectionately about early american history. It was really quite charming (I mean that in the best way). While I found both sides of the argument to have it's merits - it ultimately seemed kinda funny to be having that discussion on a site with naked girls.

For what it's worth, I have always thought your posts have shown you to be intelligent, pragmatic and frequently the lone voice of reason. Don't worry about the others.

Sometimes I wish they just had animals in big metal cages so I could see them better because they're always hiding! But then I think that I wouldn't like to live in a big metal cage.

Oscar Wilde wrote the saddest short stories...

And thanks, Digdug, but... how old do you think I am...?

I never guess a cute girl's age, but the more I think of it, you do seem to be somewhat more erudite than most of the other girls (read that however you wish). I'm much older than most of the people on this site, especially the SGs, that I expect everyone to be young.
I'm 33, but feel much older.

It's alright. I am young. The joke around here is that I'm 16.

That debate was like every other night of my freshman year at college. And you know exactly what I'm talking about, Al. Sigh. Arguments based on a political nature should only be had with people you are good friends with (at least that has been my conclusion). Otherwise it's banging your head against the same wall, over and over. I can't wait to go home. We should hang out before I leave. You are one of the few people at Reed whose reason seems to have remained intact. And that...it is a beautiful thing.
