Last year I was checking out Google Maps with my brother when I kept noticing athletic tracks. I made a comment about how there's probably a website cataloguing all the athletic tracks of the world, but I was seriously disappointed when I failed to find one. Thus, Tracks of the World was born. I think it's some of my finest work. Of course, I update it about as often as I update Nothing But Nails (infrequently and sporadically), but some of you guys might get a kick out of it anyway. I know I do!

That's pretty interesting. Yeah, sort of weird that no one else was doing something like it. Google earth sucks me in too easily. I happened across a solar field being built in a remote area of China last year and spent hours trying to find the damned thing again the following week. Never did.

One of the things I like to do on an airplane to kill time is search for baseball diamonds down below. It's amusing and somewhat relaxing.

I would say I just wasted time looking at running tracks (or camel racing tracks), except that I now have a desire to go jogging and look around Google Earth for "...shit that looks cool from above."

I think you filled a void I didn't know I had. Success?

Its amazing the things we find fascinating isn't it? Although I have to admit when you said "athletic tracks" I thought you meant "jogging trails."

Well, that's interesting. I think I've seen those Baghdad tracks before (not in person! ...also Google Maps. I was looking for some point of interest in the news.).

And, although I'm not particularly interested in nail polish (although your brother and I did have our nails painted once by a little girl at a coworker's dinner party wink ), I clicked on that link. Whoa! that's some crazy tiny artwork! It reminds me of those Chinese artists who paint on rice grains.
