I moved to Seattle about three years ago, I am not an expert on the city but I live in the heart of Downtown and have a decent knowledge of the surround districts.
What are some of the things you are looking to do/see/experience?

cheapest housing is u district (lots of schools) if you want to live in town or freemont is the grooviest neighborhood, but it can be spendy. also, if you want to go as inexspensive as possible, without moving to the boonies(kent, tukwila, renton), georgetown is nice. i lived there back in the '90s, as long as you don't mind air-traffik(you are moving to jet-city) georgetown is the shit. i'm on the beek (beacon hill) and i frikkin' love it.
