My ex wrote this for me:

Will we watch it burn together love, this tiny paper heart
Indecision leads to loss of words, and the questions start
Take the ripest flower, and peel the petals off
Something you will never find again, wrecked by careless thought
Watch it seep in slowly and push the rocks apart
I can only try so much before the light is lost
And yet still the candle flickers, casting shadows in the dark
Waiting for the wax to wither is the hardest part.

Staring for hours with no words, how could you forget
Watching me slowly back away, mind running from the start
You said that this was different, but apparently it's not

Ignoring my minds perception, oh what a faulty leak
Seeing the best in you was never hard to see
But it seems that its time to let go, I cant be caught off gaurd
Watch my clammy hands let you slip off to your resting spot
