Well well well… Looks like it’s time for a long overdue update… sorry for my extended absence… I’ve been on the go living a non stop life of adventure for the past 30 days

Anyways…
A couple days of couch surfing at mine pretty much turned into two solid weeks of intoxicated evenings, long days in the studio and one very bizarre, ultra spontaneous (and very very messy) excursion to Brighton to catch a Stanton Warriors gig at Concord2…

so yes… as I was saying…
I barely had time to recover from the hangover before I found things really getting hectic
on Monday the 29th.

I’m sure there’s been a bit of speak about it on here in various places / blogs… but for those who weren’t aware I was cast in a music video shoot for “The Hot Melts” alongside some of the other UK Suicide Girls…

OMG what a night?! Honestly I thought I’d just be rocking up in my underwear and dancing round a hotel room for a few hours… but somehow I ended up getting thrown into a long hardcore acting session after the director decided I should play the lead role of… well… a coke whore…
(I guess that’s what I get for turning up looking all raggedy / cracked out from a stressful day of preparing for my trip to America) doh!
I can’t complain though! It was a wicked night! Apart from the hangover and facing Tuesday with the sniffles which were the only real downsides… how often do you get to get absolutely battered in the name of art and make out with ridiculously hot half naked girls on a Monday night? Exactly! One must take these opportunities when they arise!


This was the aftermath at about 3am …. Yeah… I shamelessly admit that I was in fact as fucked as I look… haha!

A few shaky hours of not sleeping later…. And I was in a taxi bound for Heathrow…
where I boarded a plane for San Francisco only to spend the next 11 hours in travel hell (a.k.a. middle seat on a long haul flight with a savage “I put things up my nose that shouldn’t have gone there” jittery hangover… DOH!)

When I got to the west coast… I crawled straight into my Hotel bed… and passed out hardcore! The next 2 days were a bit of a blur of jet-lag, photoshooting and monging in my hotel room going through new music for this gig I was booked for on Thursday night =)


The party was fucking awesome! West coast kids are sooooooo sweet and I can honestly say I’ve never met such a positive breed of people! Sadly I don’t have any pictures from it at the moment, but hopefully will soon… (although I’m not entirely sure I want to see photos of myself dripping in sweat jumping around on stage like a retard in my bra…) I guess I really should have learned my lesson about that at the video shoot! Haha! Derrrr…
I really regret the fact that I didn’t get to hang around and afterparty with all the lovely people I met =( but alas! With a 10am flight to Florida it just wasn’t a good Idea! (next time… next time!... I do hope I have the chance to go back soon!)

So yes! From the gig… to the hotel… to the airport to subject myself to another 8 hour sick form of travel torture in the shape of a multi connection journey to the Florida panhandle for two glorious days of shopping, beach, modelling, getting tattooed and chilling with my parents! =)

Most exciting was the photoshoot I got to do with Dijitil! I’ve wanted to shoot with him for AGES so when he agreed to shoot some new press shots for me I was absolutely delighted! We went with a strange “Snow White’s Cocaine Tea Party” theme and I don’t think I could possibly be happier with the result! (JOE I LOVE YOU! YOUR PHOTOSKILLS ROCK!)













and to round off a successful mission across the pond I took a last minute visit to Alan’s Cool Ink in Destin to put my skin in the capable hands of Sandy one of the best tattooists I’ve come across in a long while! She did an AMAZING job on my chest piece and I would seriously recommend her to ANYONE in the panhandle looking to get work done! I’ll post some better pictures next week when it’s fully healed =) meanwhile enjoy a slightly amusing parting photo of me pretending im not in pain while getting inked


Oh yes… in case anyone is ever considering subjecting themselves to 22 hours of airports, connecting flights and layovers with a fresh tattoo… make sure you take LOTS of sedatives with you… or at least enough money to get properly lushed in the airport bars… else wise it’s quite possibly one of the worst forms of self inflicted torture you will ever endure

I was having a party, and drinking a lot, and most people had gone home, so now there were about ten of us, and we were watching Rocky Horror, and singing along, and I think I might have been dancing in an embarrassing nature (invisible penis thrust!), but I don't think I was the only one, and then this girl, I know her pretty well, we'd been to Paris together that summer, she was cute and very small and she had anemia which for her I think was just a good excuse to drink a lot of Guinness, she danced with me, and I whispered in her ear, and I don't really remember much from that point, (I'm a fully functional drunk but I won't remember the whole thing) except I started gaining consciousness upstairs and we were naked and playing about, and then I have a memory of smoking cigarettes on the roof with her (you can climb out through one of the windows since my room was in the attic), and we were wearing our doctor martins boots and summer dresses we'd found and that was it, listening to a Placebo CD from inside, and the sky was lit up orange and pink and the sun was rising, and I was still drinking from another bottle I'd found, and then I remember waking up on the sofa downstairs, and I was still drunk, but I didn't have a hangover that day, despite everything I'd drunk, I actually felt pretty good, but soon after that I went traveling and she got a job in a far away city, and I haven't seen her since, and this was years ago.

I still have this Paint Storm set in member review, but not for long. The 90 days will be finished on July 20th... that's really soon! 9 days away!!! I absolutely LOVE this set. I don't want to take it out of MR but I also don't like to leave things hanging around. Maybe some more comments would persuade them.

The theme is, about a girl dressed in white bandages like a blank canvas, bound by conventions and conformity, until she is awoken by rain drops of creativity,and it becomes a storm of colour and vitality! I feel most alive during thunderstorms, and when I get to be creative in some way, even if its just in a small way. I think I'd die without some creativity in my life somewhere.

this week has been fun in spite of my stupid cold. tuesday i went to see hightower with roach, adria and zaksmith. i am super excited they are here. i see them about once a year and i love every second of it! zak and i maybe got a little rowdy at the show. it happens.
i'd like to let you all know about roach's near death experience that night. which i had completely forgotten about until i got home last night and she reminded me. now some of the facts are foggy. i don't remember why she in the position she was in to almost die. all i remember is that we were standing behind hightower's van with my friend jake and she was bent over with her head towards me... this indicates her possibly trying to annoy me. she seems nice, but she attempts to drive me crazy constantly. touching me, making annoying noises, doing things extra slow, these kinds of things. anyway, like i said i don't know for sure why she was bent over like that but i LIGHTLY pushed her head. and she will totally say it was light and not aggressive. more like 'ehhh get away from me creep' as oppose to 'FUCK OFF'. so i push her head and she starts to fall backwards and almost in slow motion i watch her topple backwards into traffic. lucky for her jake ran over and saved her from getting hit by a cab. NOW, before you think i'm some monster let's review. she was bent over one way and somehow managed to fall over in the complete other direction and like 15 feet back (i'm cracking up writing this btw) like had to almost stand up and then start falling over. yes, i am happy jake saved her life, but i am kinda stumped on how she manged to lose her balance so unbelievably bad. i'm usually the clumsy one.
anyway we spent the night in the city and i spent the day hanging out with my friend laying around sick listening to records then eating yummy veggie food and the running around the city and going on little nature adventures. i fucking loved it!!!
later i met up with zaksmith and adria to go to berkeley for zak's book reading/signing for 'we did porn'. let me tell you freinds, it was fucking amazing. just from the few parts i heard zak read last night i am SO impressed and excited to read the whole thing.
(then we ate some greasy pizza shhhhhhhh!)
i went home tired and happy and not looking forward to work today. i could feel myself getting sicker and sicker on the bus ride home. it sucked. and whats even suckier is that i woke up this morning feeling like i was going to die. my throat hurts, i have no voice, my cough is gross and i'm pretty weak. so i didn't ride my bike. f that noise. i tried gettin' pretty but i think i maybe failed... oh well. after work i'm going to head to the city again for his other reading at city lights! i'm probably going to make it an early night due to the sickness and work in the morning but at least i'm lucky enough to be able to make it out a bit. or a lot. whatever.
i'm pretty excited right now. just in general. all the time. beaming from ear to ear and loving the warm feelings inside. fuck! i sound like such a hippie. i don't care because i'm the happiest i've been in years.
SO, if you're in sf tonight you should come hang out at city lights for the reading. i'll be there, sick but happy.

I have returned from Prague, and all I can think about are all the amazing people I met, the gorgeous city, and how I can't wait to go do it all again. It's amazing to me how such strong friendships form over only a few days, but I'm getting ahead of myself. (image) My trip started with... more

I have returned from Prague, and all I can think about are all the amazing people I met, the gorgeous city, and how I can't wait to go do it all again. It's amazing to me how such strong friendships form over only a few days, but I'm getting ahead of myself.



My trip started with an 11 hour flight from LA to Paris that left Wednesday night. It was pretty full so I was prepared for it to be miserable, but by some miracle, I wound up with two empty seats next to me! I was afraid to take the Tylenol PM John gave me since I never take Tylenol or sleep aids other than melatonin, so I had two glasses of wine and was able to sleep for 4 hours! In Paris, I met up with Gizela who was on my flight to Prague, making the trip about 16 hours total.

I had two bags - one of SG merch for the girls, and one for my personal stuff. Guess which bag got lost? The lady at the customer service counter didn't seem to care too much that all my shit was lost, so we said fuck it and headed to the cottages. No point in being upset over something you can't change, right? Plus, I had over 100 SG shirts to get me through the next 5 days, haha!!



The cab driver had no idea where the cottage was so it took us about an hour to get there, but when we finally did, so many girls ran out of the cottage to say hello - such a wonderful, warm welcome. We were pretty far away from any markets, let alone the city, so dinner the first night was bread, cream cheese, and Czech beer. Dwam, Tie, Sinnah, Bexi and I stayed up until the wee hours of the morning (actually, this happened pretty much every night), but when they finally went to bed, I couldn't sleep because my schedule was such a disaster. That was when I decided I'd just sleep whenever I felt like it and not try to adapt to any kind of time change, which ended up working out really well in the end.





The next morning, my luggage had still not arrived and I was pretty desperate to change my clothes, so I went to the city with some of the UK girls. Sky had lived there for a few months in 2006, so she was our tour guide and took Neyrissa, Miyo , Machiko , Turner and me around the city. I got a change of clothes and a toothbrush, in addition to loads of pictures of Old Town. When we got back to the cottages, I was finally able to take a shower (did I mention the hot water was all used up all night?) and brush my teeth, so I felt pretty damn good.



That night Morrigan made dinner for me, Katrina, and Nemesis - pasta with bleu cheese sauce, peas and green onions!! We headed over to the other cottage for a bit to watch Honey shooting a set with tons of girls in it, during which Clio arrived!! I met Clio in Vegas a few months ago, so it was really cool see her in Prague as well. After that, it was another night of several of us around the dinner table sharing stories and talking until 4am. Surprising how little sleep one needs to scrape by.



The next day was a bit more laid back. My luggage finally arrived that afternoon, so that was a huge relief!! P_mod drove Clio and I into town so I could get some cash, and we had a nice lunch at a pizzeria (the first of many, apparently that's all you can eat there). Just as we got in the car to head back, a few rain drops here and there turned into a massive thunderstorm. By the time we got back to the cottages, the power was out so pretty much all shooting had stopped and everyone was napping since there was nothing else to do. Clio and I napped for a couple hours and then were joined by Sinnah and Dwam. I love this picture of them... so tender.



Everyone had dinner together that night at a little pub next to one of the cottages. Lots of picture taking and even more laughing. A few of the girls were vegan, so Key and I had picked a salad off the menu for them instead of the cheese-covered pasta, assuming "salad" would actually turn out to be a salad... not so much. Bow's dinner was a bowl of sliced tomatoes and onions floating in water, no joke. We found her a plate of french fries instead, but it was like... in what country, ANYWHERE, is this considered edible??? Well, turns out pretty much all Czech food is not very good, so everyone went back to the cottages to celebrate our last night together.

I was outside talking with some of the girls when Eden came up to me and said "IT'S TIME!!!" She is a piercer and I had mentioned to her earlier in the week that I've wanted the cartilage inside my ear pierced since I was 17 but always been too afraid, so she convinced me to let her do it. Pretty much everyone in the cottage was in the room watching me, so I made them promise not to laugh at me if I cried. I let everyone down though - as you can see by the picture, I sat there and didn't move or make a noise.



Eden said "Can you at least pretend it hurts, and scream a liiiittle bit??!" In hindsight, I'm not entirely sure what I was scared of - I mean, I've sat for over 65 or so hours for tattoos and all. It really didn't hurt that much, it was more uncomfortable for a few seconds than anything else. I am really happy that she convinced me to man up and stop being a pussy, now I have a sweet little souvenir to remind me of my trip!



Our last night in the cottages was super fun. Dwam was tattooing, sets were being shot, and all the girls taught me how to say some really dirty things in 5 different languages. Another night that ended with me, Dwam, Sinnah, Bexi and Tie around the kitchen table at 4am. After I went to bed, I woke up at 8am to find all of them back in the kitchen... no sleep for the wicked.



After a lot of sad goodbyes, Key, Deison, Dwam, P-mod, Clio, Sinnah, Viking,Tie, and I headed into the city to check into our hotel and get some lunch. Once again the only place to eat was a pizzeria, but we were hungry so no one really cared. However, Tie and I did end up with the most pathetic excuse for a cheesecake I have ever seen in my life. It was definitely whipped cream with chunks of cookies in it, topped with jam and strawberry preserves. I'm sorry, but that is not fucking cheesecake, anywhere, ever.



Everyone was pretty exhausted by that time, so we retired to the hotel to take a real shower and nap. Clio and I tried repeatedly to take a good picture of us together and failed, we were just too tired so this was as good as it got. After Clio left for the airport, Tie and I napped for a bit so we could have enough energy to do some sight seeing that evening - you can't just be like, "What'd you do in Prague?" "Oh just watched VH1 in my hotel room..."




Key, Deison, Dwam, P-mod, Tie and I met up in the early evening to get some dinner and see some of the city. We got to see the astronomical clock turn 8 o'clock and the moving figures come out... it was pretty creepy!! We ate dinner at another pizzeria (shocking) and then headed to the St. Charles Bridge. Deison asked me if I wanted to see a castle, and of course I said yes - we don't have those in America! It was really fascinating, and I took loads of pictures. Back at the hotel, Tie and I stayed up til 3am watching Czech television... lots of overdubbed tv shows and movies in German, interrupted only by ads for prostitutes and sex hotlines. Fascinating!! The next morning I had to leave for the airport at 7:30am, so we all said goodbye very early before I headed off.

Like I said before, it's always surprising to me the friendships that form over only a few days. At first everyone is a little shy and a little worried they won't get to know everyone (well, at least I was), but by the end, you've got dozens of new friends and stories and jokes to go with each one of them.

I posted all my photos on a set on flickr if you want to check them out. The jet lag isn't as bad as I thought it would be, I stayed up until my normal bed time on Monday when I got back so I wouldn't be all out of whack. However, staying up for 26 hours takes quite a toll on your body, so I'm off to bed now - have to rest up for a wedding in Portland this weekend, so goodnight!! <3

Prague....what can i say! Well first I'll start off by saying Hi



I'm back from Prague, infact I came back Sunday evening, but I've needed all this time to recover before i could even begin to write a blog lol. I really had one of the most memorable and amazing experiences of my life soo far, meeting SGs from all over Europe. Everyone is soo beautiful inside & out but i supose thats why they are on this site. Aymie & I arrived friday afternoon, a little bit later than a few others but we didn't have any less of an amazing time. As I promised i took loads of pictures, and they will follow shortly. The atmosphere amongst us all was soo natural, everyone was comfortable with each-other, laughing and being crazy, I really did LOVE my time with you laydees. I am glad to be back home but am sad that I wont be seeing some of you girls for a while. I worked with an amazing photographer, Deison, & we shot a super cool, crazy ass bizarre set so keep your eyes peeled for that! I fell in love with Eden, she is such a beautiful, friendly, crazy laydee & the same goes for Stellae! I think i may now have a thing for Italian girls Mimmi & Criede have now also fueled a crush for German girls too! On the last night we all got drunk together & I feel this was the best night, everyone just stumbled around, chatting their heads off, in a million different languages, the house was buzzing with laughter & sex appeal. I will never forget the time i spent with you all in Prague, I hope we all get together next year and revive the madness that we all left behind....for now. I love you all, see you soon!

DAY 2 : Vienna. My transfo suddenly stopped working in a middle of a tattoo session.

DAY 3 : Prague. Get police controls, twice.

DAY 4 : Prague. We woke up, and the car wasn't there anymore. 2 hours to get it back from the Cesch pound.

DAY 5 : Seeing Rigel arriving at the cottage from the airport where they had lost one of her trunk, I wondered why nothing bad happened to me this day. One hour later, my period started - ahead of 5 days. Fuck.

DAY 6 : P_Mod kinda broke down. Too much stress, too exhausted.

DAY 7 : The laptop crashed down.

DAY 10 : Instead of 1euro for 24hours, the parking cost 18fucking euros. Bastard.

I thought my bad luck period was over, I was wrong. It's still here, somehow. BUT ! That was the "funny" negative part, in reality, this whole trip has been a blast. I'm so happy I've met all these awesome people, I'm so happy I had such great opportunities to shoot or to shoot with gorgeous and creative girls. Hmm. A bunch of multis in the future, guys, keep your eyes peeled ! *evil laugh*

Thank you so much Turbulence, this dear one has been running around the whole city to find me a new transfo, and fed me with austrian and chinese food for days. Thank you Elvira, now because of you I know why I never wear any heels before, and why I'll never wear any again. My feet still hurt ! Thank Elea, who gave me the occasion to shoot the silliest multi ever, just before the fetishest ever (for me, I mean).

Prague has been such a tornado of boobs and laughers.... What a moment. I can't wait to get videos of Sinnah imitating the terrible cesch accent of our receptionist (imagine a est-european version of John Malkovitch on acid), and of the sexual harassment panda. I wish I was less stressed by time and I had more free moments to talk with you girls. Yet I've found myself way too often crashing in the kitchen, chating randomly when I knew I have to get up 3 hours later !
I've learn dirty words in Swedish. I tasted foreign food. Sweet wine. I tattooed surrounded by smily faces. I killed a lot. I shot a few. I talked way too much. (and definitely, my english tends to get worse and worse as the exhaustion gets over me. It's like all the words are mixing in my tired mind. Sorry if I've been too nebulous at the end !). I woke up at 5am to shoot in empty houses in construction. I've been jumped on in the morning by crazy lady. I kissed. I touched and showed boobies galore....

So ! This is over.
I came home sooner than expected - we had to cancel for physical and technical reasons. Material broken, and stored tireness. I'm back home, with around 2000 pics to sort and prep, chocolate stocks for the moral support, 3 cankers sore, a new piercing, and my hair blond. Yuk-yuk.

So, finally a blog about my trip to Istanbul!
Recap: the reason I left for Istanbul was to go to my best friends wedding. Mona and Tarik met online, how cute. She converted long before even considering him as even a boyfriend. And now she is a practicing Muslim. They just moved here.

Facts:

population of 12.6 million
4th major city in the world
means "in the city", "to the city" or "downtown".

Food:

I was very worried about the food issues, considering I was going to live with a Turkish family and thus for could not pick my own meals. This family was also Muslim. She was a Koran teacher and he was a Imam. When I am in a different country with a completely different culture, I like to try my best not step on any toes. Blend being the key word. So this means I have to eat up everything that is put on my plate (the quite opposite of Beijing, where you buy / make 5-8 dishes of food and leave a ton to throw away!), and what Turkish women are masters at, is feeding you. "Would you like some more?" "No, thank you. I'm full." (puts a few more meat balls on my plate, smiles.) Heh. So as you might understand I was afraid they were going to serve sheep balls or cow liver. I had no idea what a traditional Turkish family ate!

To my luck, the food was wonderful! We would have your typical bread and spread for breakfast, and sometimes they would add a bowl of home made French fries! Odd, but tasted great! Then for dinner we would always start with a soup. I wish I remembered the name. I will have to figure that out. It was a bit spicy, a bit creamy and yellow. Then we would have some sort of meat. Be it meat balls, meat slices, kebeb meat it was always spicy and tasted like a piece of heaven. Side dishes were always rice, mashed potatoes and bread. Now that I think of it, there was served little veggies..

When going to the food market in Istanbul, you will find a mix of foods, everything from living animals to spices and fruit. Fruit tastes so much better when it's not imported! (living in Norway where all we can grow is potatoes, you know, the weather being cold and all, I'm not used to fresh fruit.)








The best thing I ate during my stay in Istanbul was "Döner kebab". Served in a wrap with some salad and spicy sauce, it was like eating the smell of the spice marked. An explosion of taste in my mouth, orgasmic so to speak.


Travel:

To get to the main place of Istanbul, we had to take a train for 20 min and a boat for 20 min. Public transport is really cheap and easy to do, if you ever visit the outsides of Istanbul, remember that. The trains were a bit scary. No where near up to standards in Norway! They would even leave the station with some of the doors open (this cause of the heat) and to be honest, I feared the rust would tear some of the wagons in two! But it was "safe" and fun if you as me. I got to see loads of different things, places and buildings. Train ride with free sightseeing tour. The train stopped directly where the boat left. Back to the safety issue, there was no stair up to the boat. You just took a large step and hoped that the massive crowd didn't push you into the water. I never saw this happen the whole time I was there, so I guess I might fear things a little more than I should? I don't know. Any way, the boats were very pretty, and look a hell of a lot safer then the train. The boat had two levels. One inside and one upstairs, outside with a cloth "roof" to shade the burning sun. The breeze felt so fucking good.

Manners and ethics.

Everyone I know thought that Istanbul was full of women with Burqa . Well, they were wrong. Yes, most women choose to (key word being choose to) only show their hands, face and sometime feet. But I also saw women in hot pants and tube tops. And no, they were not tourists. They were "normal" Turkish woman who just didn't share the same belief as their fellow "typical" woman did. But if you choose to wear hot pants and a tube top, you can't complain when men stare. It's not common as 98% of Turkey is Muslim. I knew this ahead, and would wear shorts or skirts that hit me right over or below my knees and no cleavage. Or at least I tried to not show cleavage. Still, a white girl hanging with three women that actually do cover everything but their hands, face and feet, well the looks where many. Not to mention the septum piercing and huge tattoo on my back. People stared. Men, woman children all alike would stare at me, most of the times in fascination and wonder, and often by men who would yell, not so nice, things at me.

I would like to take a moment to point out something I learned that I found very important. To cover up is the woman's choice. As stated, I lived with a Muslim family where she was a Koran teacher and he was an Imam. I asked about the whole covering up thing, and she told me that her daughter had not been a practicing Muslim at all until a few years ago, and that she recently decided to use a
Hijab. She added how she despised the middle east for wrecking what is suppose to be a calm, loving and accepting religion. This family had taken me in and treated me with respect and grace. I walked arm in arm with Tarik's mom on several occasions. Even though she knew very little English, and I knew no Turkish, we had a great time together. This woman who teaches the word of the Koran everyday, never even thought twice about me because I had tattoos or piercing or because of the fact that I'm not a Muslim. She loved me as much as she did her own son and daughter. I can't express how much this meant to me.

When entering a Turkish house, you take off your shoes before entering. They will put these away for you and often ask if you want a pair of slippers. Every day when we got home from a hectic day of shopping and what not, we would all put on slacks and just hang out till dinner was served.

When greeting a person (women and women / men and men) you hug twice, once on each cheek, then kiss three times every other cheek. The reason men do not great woman like this is out of respect. If he were to do this it might make me uncomfortable and that would be disrespectful towards me.



Getting married in Istanbul.

Considering this is the whole reason I was there in the first place, I might want to add a bit about the traditions around getting married.

Usually there is a Henna http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henna party before the wedding. This is for all the woman to gather together, dance eat and just celebrate. Sorta like a hen party in the Muslim world. Mona did not want this, and that actually made me a bit upset! I would have loved to experience this despite the fact that I can't speak a word Turkish and few of the woman in Tarik's family can speak English. The main reason she didn't want a Henna party, was cause they dip you hands in Henna paint making them yellow orange for three weeks. :p

Anywho, Turkish weddings are usually huge. There were a little over 100 guests there, and that's a small wedding. None of Mona's family was present, just me. So, yeah. They invite everyone!

The day of the wedding we went to the hairdresser so I could get my hair fixed and pedicure / manicure, while Mona got help putting her Hijab on. They made it all fancy and shit. This took a few hours and I met one of Tarik's cousins. She was 14 and spoke English very well! I fell in love with her, she was just about the kindest, cutest thing I had every met! Anywho, when we were done the car and driver had arrived so we got in and had to get back home so Tarik could get dressed. We were already one hour late, so stressed like hell. Driving in Turkey, well, your life is at risk every moment of the trip. They drive like maniacs. There is no structure and often no seat belts in the back. O.O Suddenly we stopped. I looked out the window and some car has blocked our way, he walks over to the car and the driver rolled down his window. Now, personally I would have thought he was yelling like hell to him, but when Turkish people have a normal conversation it's loud and sounds harsh. He finally goes away and we start driving again. We hit a red light and 7-8 young kids storm the car (hold on, I do have a point here, I promise!). The driver tells them to go away, but they wont. They keep pushing and pounding on the car till suddenly the driver rolls down the window and gives them some white envelopes. Wtf? Then I notice that on the front of the car, there is a kid, in front of the car, and wont let us drive. There is a green light, and well, everyone is honking at us. The driver fucking starts to drive, the kid wont get off. He holds tight and just looks at us. We drove a while with him there too, till finally the driver stops and the kid gets off. I wish I had a picture but I was in shock. I pretty much scream "WHAT THE FUCK IS GOIN ON?!" when Tarik explains there is a Turkish tradition where if you see a wedding car, you should go over, wish them luck, Allah be with you and all that shit. Then they will give you a envelope of money. No one knew how much, cause it was the parents that had put it there, but still. Mona turns to Tarik and says: "Why the FUCK would anyone even bother to decorate their car then?!" haha some experience you can say!

Gifts are not common at weddings, money is. And gold coins. The couple walks around and greets the guests. Thank you for coming bla bla bla. Then the guest hang money on the dress. Not kidding. They do, or gold coins that they have bought for a certain amount, and the married couple can go change it back in for the amount it's worth. Not to mention gold bracelets. I found this very odd.

It is gearing up to be an incredibly busy summer, full of travel.

Last week, I went to visit Nixon. She found a dead bird, like she does.



While I was there, she and I put on our Captain Impulsive hats and booked a trip to Costa Rica. We're leaving Monday, and are curious if there's anywhere we should check out while we are there. We'll be in San Jose for a few days, and then are renting a car to take us on adventures.

Any suggestions?

She and I will also be at Comic Con shortly after, so come say hi at the SG booth! Shortly after Costa Rica and San Diego, I'm headed to New York to visit my family and ymonster.

And what I'm going to do here is to explain what happened there and what has happened since, because a lot of you have been coming... more

Okay, here goes.

As a lot of you know, just over six months ago I tried to kill myself. I reached a point in my life that I could not understand and refused to deal with. And what I'm going to do here is to explain what happened there and what has happened since, because a lot of you have been coming to me with questions about how I'm doing.

The evening that it happened I was resolved. It was the 21st of December. I think it is the most "crazy" I have ever been. There was nothing in my head except for what I had to do. I took 64 paracetemol and chased those with a half of a bottle of vodka. I collapsed on my bed and did not come round until I was in the hospital. I was dead for a full one minute and thirteen seconds before I was revived. The doctors and nurses were a bit loathe to bother, I think, as apparently they really took their time. I can't say I particularly blame them. The first thing I saw upon coming round was my Dad crying his eyes out, and that image will stay with me until the day I die. Things are a tad blurry but I will try to explain them as best and in as much detail as I can.

When I was still in the emergency department and recovering extremely fast due to my rather awesome immune system and brilliant upchuck reflex that meant I didn't need a stomach pump, a psychiatrist visited my parents and I to tell me that if I didn't check myself into a mental institute I would be sectioned and forced in. I cried a lot, as did my Mother, at the thought of having to spend Christmas in one of these places, but understood that it would be better for me if I checked myself in as opposed to being forced.

During recovery, I had to wait six hours for the car to pick me up and take me to the institute. My Dad went home to get me some books, my ipod and clothes etc for staying in the hospital. I was desperate for a cigarette, so I begged my Mother to take me outside, with a nurse's permission, to have a cigarette. She reluctantly agreed, and I went outside. I lit the cigarette and it tasted wonderful, but all the chemicals in my bloodstream from being revived clashed nastily with the nicotine, and I ended up being violently sick in a bin outside the hospital. My Mother wouldn't let me keep smoking, so I went back inside. Shortly afterward the car arrived to take me to the institute. I was not happy to be in the car, but fell into a very uneasy sleep on the way, and managed not the vomit on the driver's seats. As soon as I arrived I was taken into an interview room, where I continued to vomit extremely violently every fifteen minutes. The nurse, there, Paul, was quite friendly but very businesslike and made it very clear to me that I had to sign myself in or I would be forced in, drugged and basically imprisoned in solitary confinement.

Paul showed me round the institute. There was a basic dining area, wings of the hospital for male and female, a very crap TV room and a garden. I tried again to have a cigarette, which I managed to stomach without vomitting, but ran back inside feeling dreadful. I went back to the room that I knew my parents were in but it was locked and they were gone. I started to panic thinking I was going to vomit right there in the corridor, and collapsed on the floor unable to breathe. Luckily, I think for them rather than me, a woman walked through the door right then and let me into the interview room, where I continued to sit and be sick until my parents returned. I was brought toast which didn't stay in my stomach for very long.

My parents came back and told me that they'd been told I would not be out before Christmas. I was very upset to hear that, and they had also been asked to leave so that I could continue there alone.

I went to my room, where I took a picture of myself on my phone to commemorate the occasion.



Shortly afterwards, I fell asleep and slept (with breaks for vomitting into my sink) until the early hours of the morning. I woke up because I had locked the door, but a nurse had worried about this and they both unlocked my door and left it open. Looking at my phone I realised it had been exactly 24 hours since I had been revived. I managed to force myself back into sleep.

The next day I woke up very early, forced myself to wash and clean my teeth, and went outside into the garden to smoke. My Dad had kindly stocked my luggage with enough cigarettes to last me a week. I had my ipod firmly secured in my ears, and was resolved not to speak to a single one of these crazy people. Outside I sat in the small shelter they had, and began writing down events that got me there. An hour later I was disturbed for breakfast, which I didn't want as I still felt a little squiffy.

Breakfast was my definition of hell. As all meals are served at certain times every person in the institute who isn't in solitary turns up. I was stared at, I was the youngest person there, and everyone there acted as though they were insane. I knew I obviously wasn't sane, but I was proud that I at least acted as though I was semi normal. One woman spent the whole of breakfast clawing at her cup of tea and screaming at another man that he was a Nazi.

I spent a lot of time over the next 2 days sitting in the smoking shelter. I was spoken to, but I never gave anything away about why I was there, and I never gave in to what was so tempting, which was to act like there was something wrong with me. Every day I spoke to a psychiatrist, but he was a complete jerk. He acted like I was a piece of scum because of what I had done, he told me, like every other doctor has told me, that I was bipolar, that I had post-traumatic stress disorder, etc etc. I complied to everything the doctors and nurses said, tried to eat well and never kicked up a fuss.

Christmas Eve brought good news. I was going to be let out that evening. I was excited to be let out but scared to death of going home. While I was there my sisters came to visit me, and told me what had happened while I'd been gone. My second eldest sister had launched herself at my Mother, and had told my Dad all about the affairs that she'd been having for nearly all the years of their marriage. My family was falling apart. I was scared to go back to my bedroom - the room I'm currently sitting in, because I feared what I would feel and find there, and I was scared to see my friends, and speak to people on SG, but I knew that if I stayed in the institute, it would tear my Mother apart and I would get worse, not better.

I was placed on "red alert" with the institute, and was told that the "crisis team" would be visiting me every day, including Christmas day, to see how I was progressing at home.

Arriving home was one of the strangest things I've ever experienced. For the first time in years, it felt like Christmas, but not in the right way. My house was decorated... mostly by me, but it felt like someone else had done that, and years ago rather than days. I went upstairs and I was told that I was not allowed to spend very much time alone. I had a shower and ventured into my bedroom. My Dad had cleaned it. There were no pill packets, no suicide note and no vodka. My rats seemed very pleased to see me. I dressed, tied my hair back and went downstairs. My mother served a nice dinner, and then I went to see one of my best friends, Alice, with my sisters. I was not allowed out alone.

Alice was slightly angry with me for what I'd done, but understood. She commented on how extremely thin I was, and I explained that I had vomitted for 24 hours straight. I think anyone's bound to lose a little weight at that point.

When I got home I logged into SG chat. Chatters will know they were quite pleased to see me, alive. Turned out there was some controversy on the night off my attempt, but I'll not go into that to save people's consciences, but if you're reading this, I'm finally ready to let you know that I know what you witheld.

I slept early, for me, and well. I woke on Christmas day and went downstairs. My parents weren't really speaking but the whole day they tried to give me the most normal Christmas that they could, despite the "crisis team" meeting, the fact that I hadn't really found my voice and my parents' obvious hatred of each other. I think I was still in rather a lot of shock.

The next few days are particularly blurry, but during my apologies to people that I hurt, one boy came up on my list.

On January 2nd he asked me to be his girlfriend, and I agreed. Since then he has been everything I could look for. The sooner I am near him the sooner I can put to rest everything I was.

In conclusion, attempting suicide is just not worth it.

More will follow about what has happened since, but for now I am tired, and don't feel particularly well.

Back from Prague... I've been crying a lot missing all my new girlfriends already. But so many great sets will come from this event, to remind us all those great moments. Even if I would not need them : I will keep a lot of feelings in my heart. These are the pictures I have now... I have to find... more

I met so many lovely people, i travelled with Bow, we hung out with Benten who has a really cute accent that the french girls couldnt understand, i got to shoot with Nemesis who is ridiculously gorgeous and wonderful! Morrigan is amazing, and when i was hungover and didnt have a bed she let me sleep in hers, and she got her tits out all weekend, they were amazing. I loved hearing Rigel's stories about LA. Machiko is probably THE sweetest SG ive ever met, actually.. shes tied with Honey who is equally amazing... Key is so wicked for organizing everything, and not to mention shes one of the sexiest SGs i know. Eden pierced my neck... ill put pictures up later, but she is so wicked, and funny, I LOVE YOU SGS!
