i have no idea, my fave is possibly "Ring My Bell" by Tori Amos on Ruby Trax or Bjork and PJ Harvey doing "satisfaction" on the brit awards.

any covers that are better than the original?

almost forgot "Tonight" from West Side Story by Porno for Pyros. i'll say that's better than the original, even though i love WSS. yes, i am that lame.

The smashing pumpkins' cover of 'Landslide' is beautiful, far more so than the damn dixie chicks one. I would say neither is better than the fleetwood mac original tho...

Dimmu Borgir did a really good cover of "Burn In Hell," by Twisted Sister..and some band covered "Karmacoma," by Massive Attack and it is great, but I can't remember the band name. Anyone know?? The vocals were done by a female on the cover.

Orgy - New Order's "Blue Monday" - Orgy gave it the anger and edge it needed.

Cyndi Lauper - Roy Orbison's "I Drove All Night" - Cyndi gave it a raw, feminine sound.

Dead Kennedys - Elvis Presley's "Viva Las Vegas" - the DK version cracks me up. Biafra gets wild with the chorus.
