CALLIOPPE SAYS: “The sun was shining brightly as Milloux and I drove up the California coast talking about small towns and big towns and the way we perceive our worlds. We relayed pieces of our lives to one another while we took a windy road to our destination, The Getty Villa in Los Angeles. The blue sea behind us, and botanical gardens ahead, we giggled together as the sun flooded the windows and soaked into our brown skin. At the museum our thoughts wandered to tangible pieces of history and the ghosts they had belonged to. We floated though time together, through space, learning from one another and those that had come before us. We left the Villa with tired limbs and our heads high in the clouds. We drove back past the infinite blue of sea and sky and the shiny white coast freckled with people. When we reached Milloux’s house the sun was dripping in through the windows, sneaking past the slotted blinds and pooling in places like puddles of light.”
