I don't have much work to do, I'm listening to some good music, and I'm enjoying a nice Screwdriver.

So here's your chance to ask me anything you wish!!

Ask away!

something that is original, or takes something old and makes it new.

favorite bands: Despistado, The Blood Brothers, Whirlwind Heat, Rival Schools, New Bomb Turks

I like a little bit of everything, although when it comes to rock, I like rock the way it should be; urgent, loud, and music you can sweat to.

I also apologize for my vague answer to stewfnrocker's original question. such an answer would take a quarter pack of cigarettes, a few beers, and about two hours.

I wrote my final term paper for American History on the history of emo music and how it had to do with Manifest Destiny.

trust me, I did it. in 8-10 pages.

it started out with a couple of pubes, and I was all "wtf?!"

I don't remember much after that. although I do remember the first time I awkwardly used one of those MagicTouch things to keep shit in check. tongue

Level.

it's the most amazing vodka. it's even better than Grey Goose. it's made by Absolut, and I was turned onto it by a girl in a pub I was at in NYC that just whipped it out of her pocketbook after seeing that all I had to drink was water.

here's the best part: she was the only girl in the bar, and SHE WAS FROM RALEIGH.

coincidences are insane. I was in Orlando, FL a couple of weeks ago, and in the Virgin Megastore I bumped into two kids from Raleigh. I can't escape my home, it rules.

pretty much the point was that "emo" music today isn't what it used to be (a bastardization of punk/hardcore).

when the Pilgrims came to America and colonized, they used Manifest Destiny saying that they were meant to come. in the process, they exploited the Indians and ruined their culture.

emo music today isn't emo at all. it's a bunch of kids whining about how their lives suck. it's been changed from punk/hardcore with heart into something that's a million times more marketable, which in my thesis was an indication of how American society loves to exploit things and change them if it's not within their comfort zone.

the worst part about my name though is that because of how synonymous the restaurant is in the Triangle (Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill) community (it's regarded as the nicest restaurant in Raleigh), everyone makes the beef joke first, and never ask about the guitarist, which is where I got my name.

thanks!

I find that it's an incredibly subtle vodka. not too overpowering, but just that right "vodka kick" that you want, along with a citrusy tang when drank straight. I love it.

babies? Bush-sanctioned relations.

I have no idea what all the men in the Vietnam War were, and there's no joke to make about it because it's such a serious and fucked up issue, so yeah.

I beg to differ... depends what you define as emo...(this is where we have a horrible discussion on what emo is)
There are bands that still hold true to bands like rites of spring, heroin, floodgate, so on and so forth. There are bands who hold true to the political aspect of what emo was and in my opinion still is.
I still believe emo is not a dead or bastardized genre. I believe its still out there, and if you feed into what mtv and rolling stone magazine label emo then I could see you making that statement.
