Enough to crush a marching band if they all fell from their shelves. Well over 700.

I signed up for the Bookcrossing mailing list, but never got into it... ultimately, I just couldn't imagine giving up any books for the project.

Yes, it's a problem for some. There is an option to simply register your books but list them as being in your permanent collection. The way I see it, when you (or I) kick the bucket, your permanent collection books will live on in the Bookcrossing system, and their future owners can continue to report on them. Unless you intend to take them with you to your grave skull

i love books. i've recently had to give a lot of them up, though, due to moving multiple times in 3 months and the fact that books are heavy frown

luckily i happen to be a poetry nerd, and most of my poetry books are much smaller and much lighter than regular books. i can say that i have more poetry books on my shelf right now than most people will probably read in their entire life.

There's an SG Bookcrossing group!

Edit: Whoops, way too late. I was replying to louys when he said it sounded fun.

Since I've moved, I've been trying to give most of them away
Ideally I'd like to get down to around 30 or so

Get rid of books? Is that even legal?

I've filled about four bookshelves now. Since I have no more shelves at the moment, the rest of my books are stacked on the floor. I've never counted, but I'd estimate that I have something close to 700 lying around. It's going to be dreadful when I move, but I'll endure it.

I'm such a book whore.

I have books on shelves, books on the floor, books lent out, I have lost count to the ammount of books I have. I bet I have more of one or two of the same book also.

Only about six. I like to give them away when I'm done. Unless I really loved it!

I probably have about 50-75. I get a lot from Bookmooch, or from garage sales, or the library bookshop ($1 a book, can't beat that). I just pick up interesting titles, and they really build up. Eventually if I read them and don't love them I get rid of them, and I only hang on to my favorites.

Thousands.

Anytime I move to a new house, the books always take up more than half the truck.

I was a literature major. I like to read.

But right now all but probably 10 or so of my books are packed away and not in my house, and that makes me sad like this frown

I noticed, the titles just started getting boring about 1/4 way down.

Hmm, close to 300 I'd say. I'd love to have more, but that's all I have room for.
