Any sentence begining with "Actually" always provokes the thought "you pompus twit".

It does not matter what you say afterwards; it could be the most helpful and intelligent comment in the world, but the resulting though is always "you pompus twit".

Also, never to start a delicate comment with the phrase "I don't mean to be offensive, but...."

Is this your experience too?

In all seriousnessness, my sister is a total loser bitch and starts every sentence with ''Actually..." I totally agree with you in every conceivable way, if only to spite her.

I was in a meeting this afternoon and I noticed my boss said "actually" like 5 times in one sentence. I was like, "sweet jesus woman! spit it out." I just think it's something people say to sound like they know what the fuck they're talking about when they ACTUALLY have no idea.

My boss accomplishes this with the phrase "exactly, exactly".

When he says it he isn't so much agreeing with me as he is letting me know that he supposedly already arrived at my conclusion, and is therefore more intelligent.

what a turd.
