anyone got some "gnarly" scars from any glorified flesh wounds? oir modest sones.....any flesh wound stories.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

I have a few minor ones but the only one I ever had to get stitches for was on my palm when I was like 13 and my mom was chasing me around the house for fun. My house has wooden floors so it get slippery and when I went to this one particular spot....I slipt and fell on a this butcher knife thin steel frame for a indoor putting green...slicing my palm up to the point I can see my fat cells bubble. (or whatever they were)

I remember being in the operating room and the doctor getting this big black dood to watch over me so I wouldn't scream like a girl....But I held my own and was actually very fascinated with how that brownish red dye gunk they put on my hand made it so numb that it felt like I was seeing my own hand being stiched up through someone else's eyes. it was pretty surreal.

but anyways...that's the was worst flesh wound I ever got...I think. I do remember someone burning a hole in my back while at a this big party...but I was so gone, it took me 2 days to finally realize there was a scab the size of a dung beetle on my back.

oh yeah....I also kicked into an exacto knife, big toe first. I pretty much bled all over the place.

I got my leg caught on a rusty swing set screw while swinging. It tore down the whole side of my leg.

As noted in my profile, I have a bitchin' scar on my scalp, from an accident when I was 4 involving a fallen stop sign and good citizenship.

I also had to get stiches above my right eye from one Thanksgiving when I was speeding around the house and charged head first into the corner of our TV stand. It was about 8 or 9, but there are no visible marks from that one.

I have a flesh wound in the shape of a Haida thunderbird on my chest... does that count?

Does it still count if I paid somebody to put it there? wink

(Actually, after 15 years, it's almost completely faded... but you can still see it, if you know to look for it.)

I'm pretty careless so I have lots of scars. I have one on my right palm from where I stabbed myself while making sandwich while drunk. I have a beauty on my right hand when I cut two tendons while scrapping paint off of my sister's window. I have one on my chest, both thumbs, two my my left forearm and a cracked left toenail (that counts as a scar right?), *counts* 6 on my let leg and a huge one on my head which will be obvious once I go bald. (so far so good on that).

Oh so many flesh wounds. But the stories are all elaborate, and involve the waving of my hands and change in the inflection of my voice. Not to mention mugging.

I take my scar stories very seriously.

wow, mine is about my palm too!!

i was 15, drunk. My boyfriend was drunk. Our friend lived in an apartment building. We went outside to make out. He wanted me to hop on his back for a piggy back ride back. I said no, he insisted, i relented. He staggered, caught himself. Staggered faster then we crashed into dirty, gravely pavement, me taking the brunt.
My palm was sliced open. Ran it under water, bandaged it. When my mom saw it the next day she wanted me to go to the hospital to get stiches.....it needed them. I never got stitches, i would take a q-tip and alcohol and clean it out , it would puss green dirty rock chunks out everyday and i would change the band-aid. yeah, it was a good one.

when i was 19 i was having words with a fellow in a parkinglot one night. while we were working things out, his girlfriend jumped on my back and cut me on my left forearm with a strait razor. deep.
i wasnt interested in my shenannigans with the gentleman anymore, (just as well since immediately after he and his lady-friend decided they had a previous engagement and hastily left) as much as i thought it would be a much better idea to have my friend drive me to the hospital whilst i screamed the whole way. much like a frightened little girl. i havent seen that much blood in my life. it ruined her cars appolstry also.

i still have a huge scar.

Mmm . . . flesh wounds.

I have had over 100 stitches in my left hand. I am missing one fingerprint thanks to a freak turnip cutting accident. The finger next to it has already been reattached once (scissors through the center knuckle).

My left arm is scar tissue from center knuckle to shoulder from a cycling accident that ended my semi-pro career. The scars line up across my back where you can see how I slid across gravel. Deep scars can be found where gravel had to be removed from between my wrist bones. The top of my tricep has another deep scar from a stabbing incident. My right arm starts scar tissue from fingertip and across/down my entire front from a 2nd and 3rd degree burning accident. Pretty much all the skin from my waist up has been removed at one point or another. I guess I am lucky enough to have been thoughly shredded that you can only see significant coloration changes when I get a dark tan.

My legs are pretty much covered from various mountain climbing attempts where I shredded them on rock.

I love medical insurance . . .

I cut my knuckle off

I stepped on a nail

I got soap in my eye
(which, yes, isnt a fleshwound, but is a vital part of this...what is the "4" verion of a trilogy? a fourilogy? quadilogy?)

and the one that started it all

I swallowed a tack

I have scars across the inside tips of the middle three fingers of my left hand. From what you ask? I was using a circular saw to cut a piece of wood, used my left hand to hold the board and wrapped my fingers under it. My wife was standing right in front of me and got sprayed with a little blood. puke

lets see....i got stiches under my chin when i was about 3 cus i was tipping back in a chair with a fork in my hand and i fell backwards....i bled all over my favorite t-shirt too dammit.....then when i was in like 4th grade i slipped and fell on sandy pavement and managed to peel all of the skin on my kneecap in one big flap that was hanging down....i went to the nurses office and they gave me a bandaid.....A BANDAID! ......and then when i was a jr....i think it was like 3 yrs ago....i was being pyro me and melting fake spiderwebs, which are nylon, and one dropped onto my thumb, instantly making a blister the size of a pencil eraser, which i ripped off my thumb accidently when trying to remove the now hardened nylon....so i had a whole in my thumb for like 3 weeks....and then another time i cut my finger with a box cutter really deeply and it didn't stop bleeding for like 3 days....but i just kept putting new bandaids on it........and too many more to count....but those are my favorites.... Hmmm....where to start.

I skipped school one day but begged my mum to let me play out when friends came round later. I ran up the back garden path, tripped up and cracked my head open on a step. Blood just poured out, but I hadn't fractured my skull or anything. Four stitches and a scar.

Another time I was teaching my younger sister how to use a swing. I pushed the swing, but turned away from it.....it came back and cracked me on the back of my head. I walked home with blood teaming down me and my sister screaming.

The first day I took my stabilisers off my first bike, I tried to pull a wheelie up a kerb...but didn't get it right and ended up going over my handlebars and landing face first. I had cuts all over my face and went home with a faceful of blood. My Dad went mad at me because I left my bike at the scene.

One time I was playing on a grass verge behind my house, and I fell onto something sharp. I felt a sharp pain and then nothing. I looked down and saw a hole in my jeans...and blood round it. I pulled down my jeans and my sister screamed when she saw a hole an inch and a half across, an inch top to bottom and a inch deep in my left thigh. I was operated on as the glass bottle that did it had fragmented inside my leg. I still have no feeling there.

I went over a fence after taking a corner to fast on my bike....and went down the hill behind the fence rolling about 100 metres. No broken bones, but in shock.

And finally, I have a six inch scar from a cat scratch after I rescued one of the family cats from a large dog. All was fine until the dog decided to bark at me. Our cat scracthed out and caught my forearm, and by some amazing fluke with his other front paw managed to completely miss my eye and dig his claws in around it.

Tetralogy.

I have a scar on my temple from an idiot doctor who didn't clean the wound properly before stitching it. Two weeks later, picked at the scab and Bllooop, a nice glop of pus and a hole down to the skullbone.
