Lauren covered herself with "skunk ape" secretions... the skunk ape is a north american cryptid off shoot of the big foot family indigenous from Missouri to Louisiana and parts of the Carolinas. and since it doesnt appear human according to the shows own canon the skunk ape would fall in the sub fae category. am i taking the nerd level to far?

No, that bothered me too. We have a ton of Skunk Ape legends around Virginia so I've done a bit of reading (for a novel I wrote about a museum of the paranormal) on it. It bugged me completely. I really think that the writers googled "smelly myth" and came up with Skunk Ape. They entirely broke their own rules. That happens occasionally though.

They straight out went porno move on the show. Bo and Lauren are fuckin' in bed and they show Lauren's hand moving toward Bo's poon and the next scene Lauren's fingers are darting into Bo's mouth. Nice.

Far as the Skunk ape. The show is ignoring a lot of the general characteristics of the mythological creatures on the show. Its just part of keeping the monsters able to move through society and stay hidden. Which is why so many of the Subfae seem to be hunted down and killed instead of embraced. When they are too monstrous they seem to be ignored or hunted by the fae. Agreed that the Skunk apes would obviously be a bit fugly, which is why it's addressed with "I knew you were too pretty to be a skunk ape". So they are probably a bit taller than normal humans, hairier and obviously smellier.
