"Captain Jack is the Face of Boe. Captain Jack cannot die. Captain Jack was once a Time Agent, or pretends to be one. Captain Jack wears a vortex manipulator. Dorium Maldovar sold River a vortex manipulator “fresh off the wrist of a handsome Time Agent.” Dorium Maldovar works with the Headless Monks from time to time. The Headless Monks decapitate people. The Face of Boe is a head with no body."

I think Wilf gets overlooked alot, I loved his interactions with eleven especially in "the end of time" two parter.
Wilfred Mott: I’m sorry. Look, just leave me.
The Doctor: Okay, right then, I will.
The Doctor: ‘Cause you had to go in there, didn’t you? You had to go in there and get stuck, oh yes. ‘Cause that’s who you are, Wilfred. You were always this, waiting for me, all this time.
Wilfred Mott: No, really, just leave me. I’m an old man, Doctor. I’ve had my time.
The Doctor: Well, exactly, look at you, not remotely important. But me… I could do so much more.
The Doctor: So much more!
The Doctor: But this is what I get. My reward.
The Doctor: But it’s not fair!
The Doctor: Ohhh… I’ve lived too long.
Wilfred Mott: No. No, no, please, please don’t. No, don’t, don’t, please don’t… please!
The Doctor:Wilfred, it’s my honor.
The Doctor: Better be quick… three… two… one.
I want a Doctor Who spin off where Brian Williams meets Wilfred Mott and they become friends and are simply awesome together

Also, what you say is totally true. Wilfred is my absolute favorite companion, even if it was short lived. Maybe BECAUSE it was so short lived. They had a seasons worth of adventure in just a handful of episodes!
Yeah, I just loved their interactions. that last quote I put should defintely happen, Rory's Dad and Donna's Dad need to go off and have adventures together and it would be awesome.
