What did you learn today?

Today I learned that the movie Armageddon is shown during new hire orientation at NASA and recruits are then asked to provide as many inaccuracies as possible. To date, 162 scientific mistakes have been found.

I learned how NASA went out of business.

Then you will be pleased to learn that NASA did not go out of business. if that were the case, then we wouldn't be launching a new rover to Mars next year. We're simply not in the shuttle business anymore.

I learned that apparently freshman boys' voices haven't changed yet.

my dad worked for NASA many years ago. He did inspections on space shuttle parts as a third party inspector. Once as an anniversary gift, he had a state of Texas laser cut out of leftover shuttle windshield glass for my mother. It's pretty awesome.
