Tried it when i was a kid. Thought it was too un believable. I mean a talking snake, people turning to salt and no ninjas, cowboys or wizards? If you're going to get ridiculous with your story, don't half-ass it.

In the un-abridged version Jesus was a ninja wizard who fought giant talking snakes with his posse of cowboy samurais.

I know, man. That book chilled me. I wish I could find more books out there that truly evoke that emotion.

The audio read by Samuel L. Jackson had me in stitches.
