Well that's what Lucas did with The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles. Disney could do something similar with any character.

Well a couple of the things I feared would happen, over the Disney purchase of Star Wars, has.
They are flooding merchandise into the market faster than ol' George used to. Seeing far more Star Wars items on shelves than I think I ever have. And today I hear the rumor they are shutting down LucasArts, the video game branch of the Star Wars franchise. 
Well... *shrugs*
At least they have gotten Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill for the next movies.
