That was just a rumor (one of the many for this film). Disney has confirmed that it's Fett and Han that are getting solo movies at the same time that the new trilogy is being made.

I can get behind a Fett movie.

How can Han get a movie unless they digitally de-age Harrison ford? Hire another actor to be han?

That would be like saying there is going to be another Indiana jones movie without ford as dr jones.


That's blasphemy that is.

It'll be a story about middle-aged Han and Leia married with 3 kids, Han works a boring job that he hates, and longs for the days when he was out saving the universe. Every Thursday, Chewbacca comes over to go bowling, but they take the Millennium Falcon out for a spin instead.



...oh, wait... That was The Incredibles... nevermind

I'm pretty sure that both movies will be about the young lives of the characters. How did Fett become a bounty hunter in his own right, and how did Solo end up with chewbacca. I think they will use the stand alone movies to play up the enmity between Fett and Solo, so that they can bring the relationship to an epic conclusion in the new trilogy.

They could get River Phoenix to play young Han Solo.


...oh, wait... nevermind.

Ouch man... Ouch! LOL

I hope they gather unknowns for all the parts. Make a few careers, not just turn characters into actors. For example, any role Johnny Depp plays is just Johnny Depp [with a huge splash of Capt Jack] as whatever.

Hopefully, in the movie about how Han meets Chewie, they follow the Han Solo Trilogy written by A.C. Crispin. Would be awesome to see the Battle of Nar Shadda on the big screen...
