Astro Cat, why is it that whenever I drop the lid off of something it is invariably the wet side that hits the floor, causing maximum inconvenience? There are, afterall, two sides and an edge.

This is a corollary to the same law of determinate motion that describes why a cat always lands on its feet. I have heard this corollary called Murphy's Law of Determinate Motion.

My cat got into my lingerie drawer just before. She rummaged around for a while, then got stuck behind the drawer, and I had to pull the whole thing out and lift her out.
