I never had a treehouse as a kid.
I don't have a treehouse now.

That's screwed up, 'cause I've always wanted a treehouse.

So, I dedicate this thread to muthafuckin' treehouses:
zoom image There's the basic concept. Kinda windowless, though. How do you enjoy your tree-filled vista without windows, goddammit?

zoom image Much better. Look at that. You can hang out inside and enjoy the ambiance, or hang out on your tree-house-deck 40 feet in the air, where the ambiance is supercharged!

zoom image I don't even like heights, and I would sell a vital organ to own this treehouse.

zoom imageWhat's better than a little house built in the trees? A little house that levitates in the goddamn trees. That's actually suspended by cables from the surrounding forest.

Man. Nuts to this apartment dwelling. I want a treehouse.

Fuckin' A right treehouses are awesome! And here's the proof:

zoom image I want you to seriously try and tell me you wouldn't live in this thing. A SWAT team couldn't tear gas me out of a place that fantastic; I'd just hang out in there smiling and crying.

zoom image I mean, I'm planning to go have kids just so I'll have an excuse to build one of these. The day after that child is born, I'd start sawing lumber.

zoom image And in my super-rad treehouse, if I had a coffee table or a bookshelf, this book would be on it. Hell, I might just build a duplicate of the treehouse on the cover!

But beware of imitators! This:
zoom image ...is not a treehouse. It's just some fancy mansion on stilts. If this is what you need to live in, then treehouse life is not for you. Move along.

This calls itself a treehouse:zoom image The title of this image? "Definitely Not A Treehouse." Get out of my innocent dreams, damn yuppies!

This is a muthafuckin' treehouse:zoom image

A true treehouse would be good for short-term zombie invasions. Especially if it had a rope ladder.

Fire? What do you do when there's a fire in a ground-situated house? Well, you do the same thing in a tree house. The only difference is you do it with a little more Awesome.

...Zombies...

Damn right you'd be safe from zombies. When was the last time you saw a zombie climb a tree? I've never once seen it. And the ones that did? The fire would get 'em!

Yee-fuckin'-HAW! I'd recognise a Southern treehouse anywhere! I can practically hear the banjos now, and they're playing a song that goes a little something like this:zoom imagezoom imagezoom image

I just did a shoot at this treehouse. It's the Esplanade Treehouse in New Orleans (as if y'all really know what that is). It won't be up for a while so don't bother checking. blushkiss

But a tree house , should it be subject to permits and codes ? Yes of course, because it's another way to make you pay for something that you want to do.
Lots of places prohibit them completely for code and public safety reasons.
Public saety on your private property designed to protect tresspassers , hmmmm.

What if the person who made this treehouse teamed up with the person who made the levitating treehouse? Result: A Floating Invisible Treehouse. I think that's the greatest combination of words possible.

Bring on the treehouses!
