Coffee House: Silliness has a hang out.

Hung out in a coffee house today. Suckered in by the free wifi. Stayed for the expensive snacks and cute girls.

I used to hang out in a place called Cafe' Lulu in San Diego. A coffee house downtown. Great place to people watch.

Actually, there were several coffee houses I liked.

I don't really drink coffee. I am more of a tea man. And pastries. I love pastries.

mmmm. pastries.

My choices of coffeehouses here are slim:
1. An artsy tea-bar that caters more to the retiree crowd
2. A douche-baggy Starbucks wannabe place that overcharges for coffee that has been roasted too long.
3. A Starbucks in a Target store
4. A drive-thru that is going out of business.
5. A Panera-Bread knock-off

The old Morning Call in NOLA was great, not in the day time, but real late nights, the walls were mirrored and it had a marble counter that ran along the walls. You could see the whole room from almost everywhere in the mirrors, the people in there were a real trip, and the women were fantastic;.....the coffee was good too. It had a turn of the century look, with iron bridgework pillars and aroof supports. You felt like you were in a steamship terminal.

Now I am hungry for jelly doughnuts. Shit.

It seems there are Vietnamese coffee places in So Cal called Cafe Lu that look like this:





I'm pretty sure we didn't loose the Vietnam War.

In West Palm about 1997 someone opened a topless donut shop, called country Donuts, (I think). I never got the connection between coffee& donuts and boobies. Of course I think Hooters is about as lame as it gets too.
