It's not the question of accessibility that bothers me, but the inherent question of logic in the decision that a similarity between threads should result in the elimination of one over another.
Who makes these seemingly arbitrary decisions? What about Word association for the win V2.0 and Word Ass III? Do you see it as an unnecessary buzz-kill to those who may be enjoying said thread? Why does it bother me so much? Is there anything remotely silly about this line of questioning? Should I stop and simply accept the will of the moderators as the word of god within the realm of online society? Do you regret having your own ask a question thread? Is it odd that I review my posts and edit for punctuation and spelling?

The mods.
They are very similar, but both have some tack to them.

Seems a bit fascist and unsilly, don't you think?
Do people really get the concept of facism when they complain about a privately owned site being controlled as the owners (or their agents) see fit?
Wouldn't the time to complain about facism be when someone tries to censor someone else's website...?
And wouldn't a better way to look at it be to say that as a customer, it makes one more inclined to stop being a customer when the management or their agents arbitrarily shut down threads- although it is completely within their rights and not in the least facist?

This is the silliness board. Period. The end. We are here to be ridiculous and not to worry about shit. This is why the silliness board was invented. Of course we can't break the major SG rules but the reason we are here is that we can start inane threads and bump ancient inane threads without the wrath of the CE board regulars.

We're all friends here.
Don't kill the silly.
I don't think we are all friends, but can respect each other.
