There's at least one good reason to enjoy the movie.

Focus on the boobies and you'll be fine.

I didn't really like it. Besides being painfully dated, it was pretty cheesy to begin with. I wouldn't mind seeing a remake, either as a movie, or as another miniseries, but maybe on cable so they wouldn't have to tone it down so much like they did the first time.

Loved the book though.

Didn't the SciFi channel do a remake?

Is that the one with "M-O-O-N, that spells moon"?

Actually, it was "M-O-O-N", that spells pretty much everything except 'moon'.

Totally agreed. Those books scared the shit out of me. I had nightmares, for christ's sake! Totally great reads, MUCH better than the movies! "It" and "The Stand" are some of my favorite books EVER. After "It" I seriously thought I saw freaky clowns staring at me through my window for several weeks after. Scared the piss outta me. Mann, that dude paints a SERIOUS picture with words!

I liked what King & Straub did with the M-O-O-N character in The Talisman better then the character in The Stand . Made him a little less stereotypical . The Stand is ok , but I really prefer the book also . If you've read it , you may enjoy Swan Song by Robert McCammon . It's in much the same vein , but even more over the top .
As far as It goes , once again I really preferred the book . And I really enjoyed King writing about the kids more then the adults in it . I think he generally does a better job of reliving childhood then adult life most times .
