when i was six
i got hit by an oldsmobile doing 60 on a neighborhood street
dented in the side with my head
the doctor straight told me i was so close to dying it wasn't even funny
he said i had a hard head
sometimes i wonder if it rattled my brain in some weird way.
who knows what courses or events cause your life to go the way they go?
september 21, 2001. 4:32am. running red lights in downtown albuquerque on my bike. smash. lost a lot of blood to the head. concussion #3. pupils different sizes.
slightly. ever since i get bad migranes every once in a while. i have a buddy who had a real close near- death experience on a motorcycle. i just think it means your edge is a little further out than before. you know. and maybe you go over a little easier than before.

At least twice I've been very lucky that I didn't do this. Gives me a certain appreciation for the fact that it's not all that hard.
cdexterhaven, i'm glad you turned out ok because you're a really great part of this community here. i know i always appreciate seeing you around. and electric_eel, i think i know what you mean. it's kind of the point i was getting at. see, for me since i was so young and it's such a vague memory it just makes me wonder if those kinds of things can permanently alter how you may have turned out otherwise.

the way i decide to act upon and my choices and decisions all in all cause my life to end up the way that it is.
there is some freak accident things thrown into the mix but mostly its all on what i decide to do.
i think that's how life works in general. for instance, if i had looked both ways before walking into the street, everything would have been different.

See, if I'd gotten hit any of the above times, it would have been neither the result of a decision, nor a freak accident. It would have been a combination of circumstances--mine, and the other person's--plus a temporary but serious lapse in judgement or attention on my part.
meaning your decision. and if that person decided for example not to drive right then and there down that street....saavy?
if they had for example decided to wake up one minute earlier or later that very day could have all this been prevented?

when i was fifteen for example, my friends went to a party and one of them, her older sister took them and her boyfriend was with them. i was gonna go with them but decided not to. 3 of them died.
