so .. just what would qualify one to be a geek?

you qualify.

I have a large collection of D&D mini's in my bedroom . And D&D books . I have a shoe box full of PC games , mostly RPGs . I have all 3 extended versions of the LotR trilogy . I grew up collecting ( at different times in my youth ) baseball cards , comics , coins , & stamps . Years back when I was still in my old gaming group ( which was for a good 10 years at least ) , I had a wood box full of dice that I constantly had to cull as I kept buying new ones I liked . And I grew up watching Dark Shadows , then Dr Who , Monty Python , the Night Stalker , Saturday afternoon monster movies & just about any geeky thing you can think of . Andre the giant playing bigfoot on the six million dollar man ? Yeah , I was there watching it . So yeah , I may be a geek . I also now consider myself a beer geek & a major dining out geek . So while the type of geekiness may have changed , I'm still very comfortable in my geek skin

I consider myself more "dork" than "geek," but semantics aside, I just belong here.
