It was through Columbia House. I think it was Janet Jackson? Or maybe I got a couple at the same time. I may have actually gotten Paula Abdul and Van Halen (F.U.C.K.) at the same time. On cassette, bitches.

Beatles--Magical Mystery Tour. It was supposed to be a present for my dad when I was eight, but he already had it. Thus, it became mine, all mine. And I still play it occasionally.

My first music buy was a cassette single of Warren G and Nate Dogg's "Regulators." From the Above The RIm soundtrack. I'm not ashamed. That song has stood up pretty well, if you ask me.

Mine was "Back in Black", the single.

And this one soon afterwards. A couple of weeks ago I gave "Highway to Hell" to my son, who's nine. He constantly plays it on his little Dual recordplayer. He loves it.

I don't remember what was the first album I ever bought with my own money. It might have been Appetite For Destruction.

The first cd I remember clearly. That was Ned's Atomic Dustbin's God Fodder.

Oh yes... that little... misunderstanding...

But I wasn't charged with extortion; I was the one being extorted. Some rather unseemly business involving two ducks, a vicar, and the corpse of Calvin Coolidge.

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

But perhaps I've said too much...

It was either Duran Duran's Seven and the Ragged Tiger or The Go-Go's Beauty and the Beat. I'm thinking it was the Go-Go's. I think the record that I still have that I've had the longest is The Best of Blondie, which I bought around 1983 or so. I'm such a fucking geezer! biggrin
