Ode to the TACO

NOT THAT TACO YOU PERVS!!!

I posted this in ACs journal, but it was so delicious I thought I'd share with everyone :

yes, tacos are the first food group for llamas. And to be properly assembled, it is :

1. corn tortilla (soft tacos are for babies that cant control the crunch!)
2. seasoned beef, it's what's for dinner
3. cheese. Many people fuck up here and add sauce. The sauce will cool the meat and prevent the cheese from melting properly.
4. taco sauce, HOT preferably, mild is acceptable. We are adding flavor to the meat, people, taco sauce is not sald dressing.
5. If you are using sour cream, and you are a sloppy eater, you might want to add it here.
6. lettuce, water COMPLETELY removed. you dont want to soften the shell.
7. tomato, prefer sliced, chunks also acceptable.
optionally sour cream and/or guacamole to taste.

oh, and I'm not trying to be mean, my lunch today is rice cakes, granny smith apples, and green tea.

I use the large soft tortillas . . . and warm each one in a pan before assembling the taco.

I also add chopped onions.

TACO ISLAND!!

There's a restaurant in my hometown that makes tacos with fried shrimp, grilled marinated tuna & grouper topped with a jalapeno tartar sauce. It's also really good if you add their homemade pineapple salsa .
I had the pleasure of eating one this weekend. This thread is making me hungry, I'm going to go get some tacos.

p.s. the classic taco is awsome, too

Yeah, tacos are alright. If you can't find an enchilada. Or a quesadilla. Both far superior to the taco.

I may swing by taco bell on the way to school.... They are sub par... but I am hungry!!

I went with what was in the freezer FRidays Steak Quesadilla Taquitos thingys... but yeah they were mmm mmm goood!
