The very word grates on my nerves. Every time two women fight it's called a "catfight" no matter how serious it is. As though women can't kick some serious ass.

I would have to agree with you 100% on this. Fights are only amusing with skilled fighters in boxing matches, otherwise it's just a bunch of idiots grabbing eachother.

Best fight I ever saw was between two women. It was downright savage. It was also in boot camp so pugil sticks and helmets were involved, but they hated each other and it soon escalated into cheap shots and a combat boot to a very sensitive area.

I don't know, I just think people want to designate the gender, since western women didn't often fight centuries ago. I mean, you could say "dog fight" when guys fight if it'll make you feel better.
