Do girls really like assholes?

It seems to me that alot of girls like assholes.

Case 1:
I once had a really intense relationship with a girl. We both loved each other mutually but we never went out or had any physical relationship cause she had a boyfriend of 2 years. I never asked anything of her and she always told me that I would be the first guy she'd go for if it weren't for her boyfriend. Well... they broke up and she started dating my best friend who she never really talked to. His approach to bagging chicks is to pretend to not to be interested.. really uninterested. Or acting really rude saying things like "Hey wanna cum over here get really drunk and fuck?" And she apparently went for it. Then she wanted help and advice from me when shit started going sour and I of course tried to help. They're broke up now and I never talk to her cause it wouldn't be right to do that to my friend.

Case 2:
Same friend...we met this girl the same nite out of town. I ended up getting her myspace so we could hang out the next time I'm in town. We've talked a alot and she seems to like me. Well my friend tracked her down from my page and sent her a message saying "It was good to meet you so when do I get to cum down and hide in your closet naked from your boyfriend?" I guess she replied saying anytime you want baby. Now she doesn't really talk to me but her and my friend are always talking about fucking.

I just don't fucking understand it. I talk to these girls about what they've done and seen, what they like and don't like, I talk to them about their problems. I don't stop talking to them when they get a boyfriend or already have one cause I really wanna get to know them. Then some asshole steps in with a beer and a quasi witty I wanna fuck joke. And they take the girl home with them. Why is that? SO....GIRLS do you really like assholes? I wanna know.

I don't know if they really like the assholes better, but a lot of chicks really seem to gravitate towards them.

One of my friends explained it to me after I asked her why she was mixed up with the oxygen-thief she wqs with at the time. Her response:

I didn't ask her what her opinions were after he split her lip at her 22nd birthday though.

Yeah, I figured this had been up a couple hundred times. I don't feel like I finish last either it just pisses me off cause I treat girls the way I want to be treated. And I think thats honest, and my friend isn't really an asshole its an act he uses cause it works for him.

As a dumbass guy though, I have a predilection for mean girls. Not drama queens, just chicks with bad attitudes and a penchant for anti-social behavior. Mind you, I also habitually pick at scabs so they never heal over.

I don't think be attracted to assholish people is gender specific. Like smoking or auto-erotic asphyxiation we know it's not good for us, but we do it anyway.

Not to change the subject of the thread but it seems I have a predilection (been looking for that word) towrads bipolar,clinically depressed, MPD, etc.
or in my own theory, people believe that medication will solve their problems. And doctors seem to diagnose at a first glance. I've been interested/involved with about 9 girls that are medicated for such "disorders", that seems like a bit much to me. These "disorders" could posibly relate to the asshole theory....*ponders*...

I remember crying over the phenomenon of jerks getting all the girls and theres definitely something to it. I don't know how, but I knew these blatant selfish, greasy, horny using assholes and they would sleep with all my friends and crushes while I stood helpless...

I won't get into advice, or broad overviews but I will say I totally get more ass now that I'm an asshole than when I was a nice guy.

Some people tend to immerse themselves in dealing with their partners' or friends' problems to achieve a sense of worth and necessity. Granted there is a desire to help, but it becomes as much about being valued or even needed by the other person. Plus, there is a certain amount of egocentrism involved when we step in at 20 odd years of age and say, "Fuck doctors, what do they know. I can solve this." Most of us have done it to a degree at some point.

I get along with well adjusted people, but in general they don't hold my attention. Give me a headcase however, and it's like doing a rubic's cube on acid.

But that basically comes down to a massive vice I have. I love to see how things work. Especially people.

I've replied to these kinds of threads a million times and frankly...I'm tired of giving thoughtful...well-typed answers.

However...as a reformed nice-guy...I feel a sense of duty to assist my brethren who have not pulled their heads out of their asses just yet.

Here's the quick version...nevermind the broad, sweeping generalizations.

Women don't like "assholes"...they like assertive guys. They like confident guys who don't cater to their every whim. However...if faced with an overly-sensitive, overly-accommodating Yes-man....she may settle for the asshole instead because he's not the nice-guy jellyfish.

When you describe the way you act with women...I see it as clear as day. You're hung up on talking about their problems, getting to know everything about them, finding out their interests....being a good friend. That's shit you do AFTER you're in a relationship. The courtship process is about attraction & infatuation. It's about lighting each other's fire.

Honestly....which of the following sound like the person you want to go out on the town with:

1.) "I want to get to know you...talk to me about your problems and we'll bond with each other"

or

2.) "Come on, hon...you and I are gonna grab some food, a couple drinks and then we're going to catch a show...I hear this band kills"

You act like a friend, and since you're a kind guy who probably has a positive influence on girls, they consider you a good friend to share their thoughts with.
To a girl's mind, meeting a man who actually understands them and doesn't seem to want something from them is something they absolutely love.

And no, girls don't prefer assholes.
Simply, they're often attracted by men they CAN'T have. The typical asshole is the man who one day treats them bad, and the day after treats them like queens.
This behaviour can create a whole mess in a girl's mind. And some, like I said, are attracted by similar behaviours.

Definitely number 2! He's more relaxed, laid back, and he's suggesting we go watch a band that could form a common, mutual interest. And, if I do have problems on my mind, having a fun night out is a better way of dealing with them than sitting down with a stranger who wants to psycho-analyse me so he can get under my skirt.

i think i do..
personally i like a guys guy. who will stand his ground and do what the fuck he wants..nice nice best friend guys bore me as b/fs. theres no buzz its all the cuddels and respect and warm fuzzy niceness. i like guys who keep me on my toes. id want a guy who can fix a car, make himself known, fight if he had to, tell me to fuck him rather than asking "can we?"

if a guy is too nice i end up walking over him and i dont like that. i can be a asshole so i need another asshole to put me in my place.
and on top of that i dont have many"nicey nice" friends either id rather have the truthful tough love than milk n cookies.
