Well-fitting plain black tshirts are hot. My boyfriend is on the cuddly side and pretty much lives in black "classic T"s from the Gap and black Mavi jeans ("Marco" style).

Get a good pair of boots or shoes. Seriously, a good-looking pair of shoes can make the tshirt-and-jeans thing look sharp rather than sloppy.

Make sure your jeans or pants fit. Get them hemmed if you have to (most department stores will do that for free). Don't wear your clothes too baggy or too tight -- it's not flattering.

Stand up straight. It's hot. wink

I looked through your pics -- keep your head shaved. It suits you.

yea, i have my zoot suit for the fancy shmancy stuff. and i have my black dickies suit for the clean look. but when it comes to clothes for me its "t-shirt, pants, belt and shoes"
pants=jeans
shirt=t shirt
shoes=whats by the door

i think what i should have asked was "if you could dress me" i need specifics. sad that it is.

I would get a couple more pairs of dickies, in different colors (brown or maybe olive or navy?), to mix it up. and I'll ditto what's been said about a good pair of shoes. probably black, boot-type shoes... always good.

i agree on the head shaved thing. especially, i'd say to keep it shaved cleanly, so you don't have the convict stubble thing going on.

i mean, what is this thread? this isn't the *insert SG name* new set thread!

i never really liked boots either until i bought this pair of square-toed chelsea-style boots a few months ago. they don't look "rugged" like most boots do. they're great for "dressier" occassions, and work equally well with everyday casual attire.

but that's just my opinion.

zappos.com is a great place to find some kicks.

I disagree. I like shaved heads, but I hardly ever like it when it is bicked. And it feels cool. I would keep it at a #1 or #2.

Also, I think you would look good with a really short fade as well, If you are looking to change it up.

Wanna look good my friend? Here's my advice. The library and get the What Not To Wear book.

If you want to look sharp but still keep your punk/metal look. My personal advice is as follows.
#1 Ignore the eyebrow advice. They look fine. If you get a lil stuble between them you might want to do a lil pluking, not shaving!

#2 Keep up the facial groming, looks good. I could see you with a bit slimmer gotee though.

#3 Denim jeans would be your best bet. Not baggy! That will just make you look sloppy. But not those tight Wanglers. Just a nice strait boot cut. Get your size. If you fit into a 38, get a 38, not a 40. Think snug, not tight. I'd follow this rule, if it'll stay up without a belt and you can still breathe narutally you're good.

#4 Wear a belt. Always. But do not wear the shiney polished belt you have for your suit (if you have one.) Dark brown or black on denim looks good. Avoid gaudy buckles (pleeeease.)

#5 Boots. I have no idea if you own a pair but you need a pair if you lack one. Something like
would work very well with your jeans and a simple belt. If you're able match the belt color with the shoes. Again dark brown and black would be good for you.

#6 The plain black t-shirt you're sporting is too... plain. I don't know what you wear when you go out but if you have a big collection of those, plain black t's. I think you'd do great finding yourself a nice Dickies mechanics jacket. Throw some patches on it, just a few though don't go over board. Either the jacket or a vest. But vests are reaaaalllly hard to pull of well.

I'm sure you could find all the stuff I told you about in a decent thrft store. You could get the boots (maybe not Docs) jacket, jeans, and belt for pry less than $50. Easy.

That's my man to man advice. Best of luck to ya!

i actually really like your look already

big broad guys are appealing as its something nice to hold on to- my boyfriend is short but he has that whole broad shoulders thing and its one of my favourite parts of any guys body

i like the beard but it could do with taming-not too much fuzz coz it may look like your hiding something but i really like the idea of the beard coz you really pull it off

otherwise, i'd just look relaxed and confident, and be warned that docs look nice n a guy but they are painful to wear in!

i like a good pair of trainers or creepers

and keep wearing those black tees it suits you as as meantioned- a dickies jacket would look spiffy xx

good luck and post pics of what style you want to go with and how you look if you decided to change anything xx

Dude, first, of all, I'l like to make you a poster boy for people soliciting advice on these threads. You sincerely asked for specific advice, and approached the board with personality and engagement. Thank you. Especially for not ending each post with:

crieswhinegoesbacktokcickingbabies...

or somesuch.

That out of the way:

As a not-so-svelte guy myself, I've found a lot of luck with shortsleeve collared shirts. Not the Homer Simpson dress shirt style, but more like bowling shirts, or secondhand mechanic shirts. I believe Dickies sells some like these, that would probably coordinate nicely with the pants you've got. Anything with a good cut, or some kind of vertical stitching tends to hang well, and give a good, slimming line to the hirsute among us. On me, they tend to hang loosely, without being baggy, and accentuate the fact that I do have big, muscular shoulders.

If you approach other people like you've approached this board, you're going to be fine. I'm pulling for you.

you can order direct from the dickies website. that's where i bought my jacket. and i think it's cheaper than retail.

Two words: suit jacket. Suit jackets work over a lot of different shirts... band t-shirts, button downs, turtlenecks, light sweaters... anything not too thick. It's an instant touch of class that still lets you wear something unique and individual underneath it.

Also, if I were you, I'd lose the lip rings, the goatee (or style it into something a bit less amorphous), grow your hair out, at least a little. Maybe enough to style it.

Smile.

Disagreement! wink Lip rings are hot, and he said he was gonna get spikes for them ... mmm. I know lots of women who like a shaved head, and a goatee. It's his look, we can't go changing it that drastically.

Look how you want to look dude... wear what makes you feel good.... don't change for the sake of attracting the ladies, just be cool and be yourself.

They'd probably find that more attractive than simply wearing some different clothes or trimming ye beard.

Just my opinion.
