I'm curious to hear (or read) what you have to say on this subject-
When in a Relationship where the big "L" word has been dropped quite a few times by both people...What is the norm for it to be said on a daily basis? My personal feeling is it shouldn't be said over and over all day long just for the sake of saying it, to me then it becomes a programmed unemotional statement. Am I making sense? Do you feel the same as I do? In your relationships(past and present) how much did you say it?

I myself know I can really easily get into the habit of saying it WAY too often, most of the time because 1. I want to express affection and 2. I can't think of anything else to say/other ways to be affectionate.

Over the years I've learned to express affection in other ways, and have started to feel that if you say it all the time it starts to lose it's meaning. Now I don't say it unless I am really, REALLY feeling it (you know, when you get that feeling that your heart will burst if you don't say it) and when I know the other person will be happy to hear it.

I've also gotten myself out of the habit of saying it only because I want to hear the other person say it back. Insecurity is bad.

I'm glad it made you feel better! Insecurity is the worst because it's so hard to control, but you know it just makes everything worse. The best thing is to just try and go with the flow, instead of questioning everything.

Especially at our age you know? We are young, so even if things don't work out for us right now, we will bounce back quick. Knowing that, it isn't worth worrying about whether or not things will work out the way we'd like them to.

We say it all the time, every day. That doesn't make it any less meaningful, by the way. Not for us, at least. We mean it with all our hearts each time the words leave our lips. I feel as if the words themselves aren't enough, but it's all I have to tell him, to let him know that at that moment it feels as if my heart is about to burst out of my chest. I know he feels the same way.

i say it whenever i mean it. whenever i'm sitting around and it just hits me- holy cow i love this man. it just so happens that that happens a lot. the fact that i say it multiple times every day doesn't make it mean any less. it just means it hits me how lucky i am, how in love i am, that many times a day.

i love you all, and not in that funky superficial way, i mean, i love you... of course, i've also been awake for too long... so it could be sleep deprevation... then again, i did just eat pancakes with lots of syrup, so it could also be the sugar... oh, i'm rambling.

When I fell in love with my current boyfriend, I felt a little freaked out. I had fallen in love with my ex-boyfriend and that relationship ended terribly. It didn't help that I wasn't too sure about how my current boyfriend felt about me at the time. I kept on making subtle hints that I loved him, but I wasn't sure if he caught on or was just ignoring it. Finally, I told him and he reciprocated by telling me that he loved me too.
Usually, when we say we love eachother, its usually everytime we get off the phone with eachother, during/after sex, when I drop him off at home- but that's about it. I've already had one relationship where "I love you" was said once every five minutes or so and now that I think about it, it was kind of cheezy to say it over and over again.

this is from a movie. i forget it exactly, or the name of the movie.
something along the lines of...
when you get old and have been together so long...i love you, is like just saying cheese sandwhich.

I allways liked that.
I think the common i love you, say...when hanging up the phone with the person is fine...but the. " Honey, I love you" like the meaning ful on, well. fuck im not sure. It's allways nice to hear it for me. I hate the usage when its to make up for something you fucked up on though, and you say sorry by smothering with i love you's.

I say it whenever I feel like saying it and don't worry about it. And I make a point to say i t whenever we part.

I sait it a lot to my son too, especially when I leave him someplace. I always want that to be the last thing we said to one another.

I dunno, once it's said by both parties, it seems to be said all the time after that. I'm so used to saying "I love you" while wrapping up a phone conversation with my wife that I've said it to my buddy Matt, too. LOL. And he's like "I love you, too, honeybuns."

Nothing says love like resting breasts on your partner. Personally my guy likes it when i walk up to him and rest my boobs on the back of his neck when he sits. Its pretty funny actually... Then I tell him I love him.
